Default Is ducking to view a normal procedure?

I have been enjoying driving my Cayman S for about 5 months now, but it seems weird that I have to duck lower to view cars that are far behind me. I am only 5'9" and the seats are at its lowest already. It seems like the rear view mirror is mounted too high and I have to lower my head to see cars rom a distance behind me, no problem seeing cars just tailing me but I like to see more from a good distance, which is not an issue with any other cars I have driven. I am guessing with anyone taller would have similar experience with this issue? I want to fix it and maybe lower the rear view mirror.

Damn I cant edit thread subject, am screwed!

I am waiting for my 2016 CGTS to be delivered, so I can’t talk about the 981 yet. However, I did rent a 718 GTS 4.0 last week and I don’t remember having the problem. I’m only 5’6”, so a bit vertically challenged, however.

No issues here. Tilted the mirror once and haven't touched it since.

Same for me. My 2014 CS is no different than my other cars. I travel 100% for a living and drive a different rental car every couple days for almost 25 years now, and never noticed anything different at all between any of them vs my Cayman. That's why all rear view mirrors tilt, so I'm not sure I understand the issue?

Lowering the seat makes your problem worse. If there's not enough adjustment in the mirror to see without tilting your head down, raise your seat to the highest level and re-adjust the mirror.

Just scroll down and you will see the "Edit" button.
My wife is 5'-0" on a good day and she has no problem seeing forward or rear. I am 5'-10" and I have no problem either, although our adjustments for the seats are very different. I think you should explore the adjustments available.

So this is what I typically see with my rear view mirror. If I duck my head lower, I could see drivers and also see cars from a distance.

From this angle, it looks like your rear view is pointed slightly down where you can see the top of the trunk. You may want to try tilting the mirror up a little bit.

It looks to me like your mirror is tilted down too much. You don't need to see any part of your interior or your wing, and I can see the rear shelf and the top of the wing through the rear window. I'd try tilting your mirror up until you can't see any of that. That should give you visibility further back.
