That sale is in Canada, in Canadian dollars. So about the same as what you paid.

2016 Cayman S, 15k miles, asking $70881, MSRP was $81k.
This is at the Porsche dealer in Ontario : Los Angeles area, not Canada, so that astonishing number is not explained away by currency conversion.
It's only a few weeks since we were wondering when the price of one of these would go above $60k: in one bound we are now in the 70's. Wow.

No sport chrono or sport design wheel, truly WTF pricing.

I've got my 2016 981 Cayman listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, but no takers even after dropping the price to less than what I see comparable cars going for this past month.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...9673209704612/

it is a six speed manual, with sport chrono and PASM, Nav, Sport Design Steering Wheel among other options and it is still covered under the original factory warranty until Oct 2021 (the car was one of the last ones sold in the United States). No accidents, single owner and garaged in California the last year.

what other forums are places to list or would folks just recommend going with Bring a Trailer or CarsandBids to "get it over with"

Facebook marketplace isn't the right forum for a specialty vehicle like a 981. List it on porsche forums, and get an offer from Carvana and Carmax while you're at it. Carvana in particular has been known to make pretty fair offers on these at times.

That is one of the best configured Base Caymans you'll ever find. PASM, SC, 18 way seats.

*Edit: ad is up on RL Marketplace https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1258778

My 2016 Boxster GTS will be for sale soon. The only delay is getting the clear/clean title in my hand. I just got the title from the dealer I bought it from in April 2021! I'm in the process of registering and titling the car with the State of Oregon and supposedly will have title in hand in a couple weeks. I will be posting ads on RL and Autotrader, but my fellow 981 brothers and sisters get an exclusive heads up in this sub-forum. Basic details are below and you can get more info in my build thread (https://rennlist.com/forums/981-foru...ld-thread.html). PM me if you have questions for fastest response. I don't check this forum often.

I'm selling because I came to realize that as amazing and fantastic as the Boxster is, I am a 911 guy at heart and I recently picked up a 2011 Carrera GTS and no longer need/want the Boxster. It is in excellent condition and the ONLY issue is that the Sport Plus button does not function. I've tried resolving the issue with my local Porsche dealer in Bend but they don't have the expertise that a dealer in a larger market might have. I was planning on taking it to a dealer in Portland or Seattle to resolve. I suspect it is just a software matter. Either way, it is covered as a CPO car and just needs the right tech to figure it out. I'll post more pics shortly. Thanks for looking.

Price: $80,000
Location: Bend OR
2016 Boxster GTS
PTS Gulf Orange
Miles: 33,787
CPO until April 2023 and transferable to new owner

Mods:
  • Boxster Spyder rear duck tail spoiler. Original rear spoiler included
  • GT4-style side ducts
  • ZunSport Grilles
  • 10mm front and 15mm rear spacers

Wow strong money I think you will sell it no problem though. I was considering selling my 15 BGTS M fully optioned with only 22k miles but was considering letting it go for $75k but you have me rethinking this.

BTW good luck with the 911 GTS

This one has now dropped to $67881

But in case we may think this is a sign of prices moderating, another LA area dealer has a similar car - with very few options, but only 1100 miles - asking for $78988. Again, wow.

The one for 79k is listed at 8k more than the original MSRP, and it has very few options

981 Cayman S cars at the Porsche dealerships seem to be uniformly in the low $70Ks with a few exceptions. There is a car with accident damage on the Carfax in Monterey around $60K and, in the absence of any details about the accident and the repair, I asked if it could be CPO'd. The reply I got was basically that they didn't need to bother with CPO because it would sell quickly without it.

I was just informed about this 2014 Cayman S MT in Utah. Seems reasonably priced to me. https://www.porschelehi.com/inventor...ab2a82ek190779
