Do you have a source for the headlights? They are over $3k each from Porsche and I have sourced GTS rears for under $1k. If you want the look with bumper, lights and rear diffuser you are at < $10k additional. If none of that is important than an S is a great car and can easily be made as quick as a GTS.

I mean sure dude if you wanna buy every little piece brand new from Suncoast it's gonna be expensive lol. Get the lights from Rennlights for $1,600 and that's half of what you pay at Porsche. There was also some brand new ones for sale on PCA mart a month or two ago for even less than rennlights. Keep an eye on the classifieds, ebay, etc . Also plenty of S' came spec'd w/ the taillights thats not an unusual option and I've also seen them pass hands in classifieds section here.

Seems nice but I would need to see them in person. I am assuming you will need to remove your bulbs, ballast, controls, seals and rear cover or pay for new? I appreciate the link and that price seems very reasonable. I have sanded these down and re clear coated them for friends and so far have held up for a few years outside looking like new. I had no idea there was a company that reconditioned them. I also get wholesale pricing so many items are marked up considerably from Porsche. I help a lot of buyers of 964's and people are very fickle when it comes to the car meeting their expectations. To some it has to be a GTS or it isn't. My son wanted a GT4 couldn't afford it so did everything he could to make his S as close to one as possible. Everyone has different interests.

Yep, I can totally understand.
Rennlights has a very good reputation. Lot of people use them. I wouldn't worry, but yes you have to use your own bulbs. You can tack on a new seal and rear cover for $50 from RL.
Here's a link to one of the lights on pca mart too. I guess the other one sold already.

With 151k miles I bet you won't be tracking it. Will probably need synchros and who knows what else quickly enough.

What a good mileage for a 981 Boxster that you would put about 4-5k a year on

My bad I made an assumption and was thinking 6 speed. I am not a fan of PDK. I am just a die hard manual trans lover.
Mileage is hard to say but anything over 100k miles can get expensive. Have the car fully inspected before buying it will save you in the long run. I have a 3k mile and 2 28k mile 981's and they all drive very differently based on how they were used.

The 2nd one you linked to also appears to have been removed. What are you looking for in the car? Just a track toy? PDK mandatory?

There are differences between an S and GTS than some realize. Not as much with the manuals as the pdk's but steering is managed differently and becomes even more aggressive with the GT4. So is the sport exhaust which has IMO a better sound than the S's sport exhaust due to additional pluming used to direct the sound. Some like it others not so much. The engines are the same and can be tuned to achieve the same power. The appearance package by itself IMO is a nice improvement and most are usually optioned better than an S. At the end of the day they are similar. I personally would do it for the appearance alone. I much prefer the GTS clear tail lights and blacked out fronts but the bumpers and diffusers make a nice addition. Is it worth the premium is up to the buyer I guess.
I got this list from the forums...my car is a S and has the bolded ones:
Additional Radiator - I don't track the car, so I don't see the need for this
PASM/X73 standard
PDLS
PSE
Sport Chrono
20" Wheels
Sport Design Steering Wheel
Tinted rear lights - swapped it for the smoked one from the GT4
Different bumpers - eh
Sport Seats Plus
Full Leather/Alcantara Interior - redid room/a-pillar in alcantara
if you got the cash and want to shop around less going through each S to see what features it has, GTS is the easier purchase. But the value I believe is in a loaded S.
