Fog light upgrade? LED?
#16
Thanks! I ended up doing some inline digging and for those wanting to do led:
Engine / Cabin / Trunk = Sylvania 6411
License Plate = Sylvania 6418
Glove Box = No LED will fit; too fat
I picked up the Zevo version of the Sylvania led bulbs which they say are the brightest.

I can't remember what I replaced, I think the trunk and dome, and the glove box. So this may be wrong.
Glovebox: AUTOSAVER88 4X Festoon 27mm 28mm 1.10" 5050 4SMD DE3021 DE3022 LED Red Interior Lights Bulbs
The above on amazon is no longer available, these seem the same below, I like the red light in the glove box.
Interior lights: Cutequeen Trading 4pcs White 450 Lumens 5730 9-SMD 42mm(1.72") 12V Festoon Dome Light LED Bulbs 211-2 212-2 569 578 - White (pack of 4)
And since I was pulling it all out, got new ones Hella dome and trunk lights:

+1 on superbrightleds.com as a source. I've done all of the lights in the rear....brake lights, running lights, and turn signals. Had to of course to add 50 watt resistors across the turn signals and brake light bulbs. Turn signals to keep the flasher from rapid flashing and brake lights are strange in that the cruise control looks at brake light resistance to cancel the cruise control upon braking. As I drove my car at night I saw many too many cars run up on me from behind because we are all so used to seeing super bright led lights on most new cars.
Looking at this company for a few LED upgrades, they seem to have good cross info on the bulbs and the cars applications

Did you upgrade many of yours to LED Jerry?

I haven't used them myself and don't even know for sure that they will fit our cars, but apparently the Philips Ultinon H4 LED bulbs are great:

They're more expensive than other on the market, but come from a reputed brand in the business, for what it's worth. I'll probably try them eventually, but have other priorities on my list for the time being.

Nothing will fit, that I am aware of, the problem is the back of the bulb sits outside the lamp, and has a right angle connector with rubber boot over it to seal out water, dust etc.
All LED lights I have seen need to have either a fan, or a heatsink of braided ribbon and there is no space then to put on the rubber cap, and then the headlight can not be re-assembled either, if I recall.
The other problem is that headlamps are designed for omni-directional light casting, and the LEDs are pretty direct, some do better jobs at others, but the light has to be reflected and I think refracted correctly, and the housing is not designed for a concentrated source of light.

Looks like the Osram 65W H4 would be an upgrade over the 55W 9003's for headlights. I did this on some Volvo headlights and they made a noticeable difference. In fact I might have one of thdse 65W H4's kicking around to do a side by side comparison.

I would be very interested in the side by side comparison
