The Matador gets pulled!
So my phone rang last week and it was my buddy Bo. He said the frame machine was open this weekend and one of his guys was available to work so would I like to get the Matador pulled on Saturday. I had the car running and had already done much of the stripping and the car was ready so I said yes and waited until Saturday morning for the car to be picked up. You can see the severity of the hit in this photo. Off we go to the body shop!

Came out great! the cup 1 is back on for the first time in 10 years. My new quarter and tail panel will be done next but they should line up now. Definitely a big milestone having this done. It runs and DRIVES great now!

It does in CO, but not in CT, cars that are 25 years older or more don't get titles here in CT. Still, any review of the Carfax will tell you the history. But this is an amazing and rare car with the interior. 1 of 2. And it was a rear end hit so it will be 100% when I finish. She will be striking!

Oh, I don't know about that. Many classic cars have history. I guess you haven't seen some of the muscle cars out there that have been restored from discarded race cars that had sat in junkyards for years. This hemi cuda, once restored, sold for well over 6 figures as the numbers were all still there. The matador looks like a new car compared to this and rarer being 1 of 2 of 4,242. It will be a great car when done. And I don't plan to sell it anyway.

^……...and sometimes total and salvage are misunderstood. How many Speedsters, 356's, 914-6s, 74/75 Carreras do you think are $100,000 to $500,000 cars and were/are totals or salvage? If Raj or Jay rebuilt a salvage 968 from the ground what would it be worth to you? Top dollar to me and probably the next guy too. Or, 10 years from now will you have the same position on salvage vs classic. I seriously doubt it. Another misguide is dismissing a car solely on mileage. Foolish! Even Bizarre!
