They produced close to 1800 CS coupes. they had their own special VIN (PS815### for a 93 CS coupe). I wonder if this cab has one?

Indeed Jeff, that's taking into account the Club Sport and Sport (only sold in the UK). At the moment I'm collecting CS VINs, but sadly that red cab hasn't made a public appearance yet.

I will try and find/post the article tomorrow.

I've found the French article and uploaded the part about the CS cab. It doesn't tell us much more, just that it was a study car by Porsche following the same recipe als the CS coupé.

Ahh, thanks, makes much more sense as a study car, than one that was actually sold to the public.

If only Porsche kept the 968 going for 1 or 2 more years, think of the cars we would have had, turbos, litronic headlights, etc.

There was a fiberglass fender set offered some time ago by Deutsch 9 - but they are sketchy at best and have undergone a change in operations/ownership. The idea is to use the 993 headlights.

No real kits available that I'm aware of now. A couple of examples have shown up from time to time - seems that most have headlight beams that do not aim properly. OD on here has incorporated these headlights apparently with some success - but apparently it required a fair amount of body filler to make it appear right. If OD would just get some molds made...

There is recently another example that popped up - but I have limited information at this point.

Thanks. Wish Porsche would have done that to begin with. Looks so much cleaner.

I have one fender from a 993, waiting till I get another one, or my friend get's parking lotted with his other one, since I go the one I have now from him!

What you need to to is cut the mounting bracket and the opening of a 993 headlight hole, and mate that to a 968 fender, they are pretty close.

Here is what it looks like, and at this point the only way I would go, and one of the last mods, to do before I repaint my whole car.

But it is a big decision, keep it stock looking or a maybe this is what the next gen would have looked like, and probably similar to what porsche would have done, if they kept the 968 a few more years.

Remember, the guy that cleaned up the 944 to make it a 968 did the 993 refresh of the 964.

These are 968 fenders.

Sportwagen Zürich is the Name of the new owner or successor. On their website, there are 993 Headlight Lightweight Conversion Wings for Porsche 968 listed.
http://www.sportwagen-zuerich.ch/con...s-porsche-968/

The converted cars shown there look really good. But before I would do the conversion, I'd like to see one of those cars in real.
I wonder which lights Porsche installed in their blue roadster, 993 lights?

They look even smoother than the ones on the 993, and they lack the rubber seal.

I, for one, have never minded the pop-up healights. Such headlights are rather unique, I can only think of the 928, Lamborghini Miura and Opel GT (sort of) that also featured them. For me it is what sets the car, looked at from the front, apart from the 993. Moreover, I always chuckle when the headlights deploy...

Toureg - I, too, have the same photos in a folder on my computer. Also have a few from ODs install. Note the different heights of the fenders from the headlight upper edge back toward the windshield. Based on this alone I'm not confident that the white example will allow you to set the headlight angle correctly.

FWIW - it is the last mod I intend to make on the Coupe project. Just picked up the last major item (p side 993 fender) this past weekend.

The other example that I know of. In my minds eye this example doesn't appear to have a high of a rise from the headlight back to the windshield - but perhaps its the black (black always makes you look skinnier I'm told). Photos below.
