Survivors - aka How many are left?
This topic was inspired by a thread on another post in the 924/928/944/968 section here where a prospective buyer was asking a few questions about the 968 marque.
Per Sir Jeff - there were a total of 4,242 968s imported to North America over the 4 years of production (2,234 Coupes and 2,008 Cabriolets). It is my understanding that the 968s were the last of the 'hand built' Porsche's, which in my mind makes them even that more unique.
So, knowing that there have been a number of events that have resulted in '968 fatalities', it got me to thinking - "How many are left?"

wiki says 97.4% out of the last 25 years on a 2011 Canadian study.

I did not know reuter became recaro.

This topic has been discussed in the past. It would take someone with a Carfax account, some deep pockets and quite a bit of time to run all of the VINs. And that would only give us a snapshot in time, there would have to be some sort of mechanism for continuous monitoring or annual updates.

I would say 50/50.
Tips are more likely to die then 6 speeds as they aren't worth as much and aren't as much fun. IMHO.
Cabs more likely to die then coupes because they are more expensive to repair.
Remember, 2,008 cabs, 2,234 coupes.
