Default The inline 4 cylinder Porsche is back!

What is old is new again! Porsche just announced that the inline 4 cylinder Macan will make it to the US for 2017. With the new 4 cylinder Boxster and Cayman it certainly looking like 1992 again!

I like the tail 3/4 view...the newish beemers use the horizontal tail lights to make them look lower.

front looks like it has a lot of air inlet space...I wonder if they are dumping it out the front of the wheel wells

It's probably just a VW 2.0T engine.

So I guess this means we can no longer say we are the last of the inline water cooled 4s.

I thought I read in Excellence that they were not going with the VW engine and developed their own. I don't know why though...seems like the VW unit is a pretty good mill.

But it is the last of the inline water cooled 4 cylinder engine to be offered with a manual.

The power numbers are suspiciously identical to the latest generation VAG 2.0T .....

Confirmed, one in the same

And having owned 3 of them in Audis I can tell you it is a great engine.

A plus to the Macan IMHO.

Since it's an SUV, I guess it doesn't matter that it sounds like a Briggs-n-Stratton. Great engines, but so soulless.
