Not sure what you are saying about the mileage on the Bonham's car JSheiry. I bet that car has the documentation to prove the actual mileage is that low. I'd love to have a car with such low mileage, but it's not like 200 miles per year is very different than 2000 per year when it relates to what condition a car might be in after 25 years. The gauges on my 54k mile 968 are definitely less faded than on that car, especially the clock gauge. But that would relate more to how the car was stored. The funniest wear area on my car shows a little but much less on that car, the top of the grip on my handbrake is very worn. I hope that car goes for at least $50k.
The car in your other link is gone.

We can hope for 50K but seems extremely unlikely for a low mileage Red coupe that the only interesting option seems to be 17" wheels, no lsd, no sport seats, no M030. All black rubber trim needs to be replaced like a 150K car, the door handle gaskets are non existent...gone, the motor could use a good detail, the gages have the fleck/fading of a 150k FloridaTexas sun car, the infamous mechanic who cant locate the cruise cable has worked on it. This is a very good lesson on how NOT to get 50K for a very interesting car. Everything I mentioned might cost $250 and two days labor so perhaps someone can steal it and do the detail work to really make it look fantastic as they suggest a no reserve auction.
The other link works for me fine but some people cant see Facebook Marketplace??? I could not for months for some reason and out of nowhere Facebook Marketplace started to appear?? Its a black LHD Club Sport with hard back seats, etc..etc...seems to be near Hong Kong?? Perhaps you meant sold when you said gone??

Hi John, my son Greg works for Bonhams and wrote the write-up for the car. he is working the event. I pointed out the cruise control cable and it should be fixed by now
He reports the car is very nice but it does not have very good documentation considering what it is. No original paperwork is present. the black leather binder for the books is missing, The original radio is gone. so it does have some issues. he reports the star of the transaxle show is the 79 928 that they have listed with similar ultra low mileage but the condition and records to back it up.

You have a good eye JSheiry. I still could not find the hole in the grill but since I found the other stuff you mentioned I'm sure you are right. My door handle moldings only recently failed at 190k miles on my high mileage car (I almost think they were replaced in the past, but I don't remember it), but are going out on my 50k mile car that definitely spent less time in the sun than that red car. I don't know how many holes I have gotten in my front grill over the years.. Same with the front batwing thing, hard to not damage it.

I looked at this car briefly last Feb. One of the tops unobtainium metal arms had broken and a horrible weld job was in its place. The other thing that I took as a bad omen, one of the door lock ***** was bent and broken. Maybe an easy fix, or maybe the whole car had been neglected. I just don't know and had little interest in finding out. Does look nice though...FWIW-they wanted $24 then.

It would make sense as the car was reported stolen in 1998. I asked how long it has sat and they said ...a year! I just was stunned, now not so much.
BTW They would take 18 and possibly less now.

The 4,200 mile Bonhams 968 sold for $61K. Kind of surprising.

Wow. I guess the mileage number was all the bidders cared about. Somewhat makes sense. Some of our much higher mileage cars may be in better shape, but an odometer reading that low does make it seem like it's practically right off the showroom.

What gets me about the low miles premium, is if you want to drive it, you still need to do LOTS of maintenance items. Most rubber hoses, all fluids, timing belt/cambelt, all filters, tires.... Yes the clutch, brake rotors and pads, wheel bearings etc are ok. I assume it is going to a P-Car collector and will never/hardly be driven.
