Hey guys, anybody have any insight into this car?
maybe a member had it, or maybe something is obviously a deal breaker for you?

I'm way out of state but it caught my eye. Looking for something relatively cheap and projects are ok. Want to cruise around a bunch, not daily or track or anything like that.
Currently I have a 14' Cayman S, 20' Macan GTS, and a track-prepped 99' Miata. I do almost all my own mechanic work. And I live relatively close to a bunch of good Porsche shops as necessary.

Interesting, appears to be Amazon Green and has dark rootwood shift ****, which was an exclusive option back in the day. A bit rough, but nothing that some time and money can't fix. Last timing belt service would be a key item to know, also if the starter to alternator harness has been replaced.
Second, yeah my thoughts on the color and such too. According to the dealership/shop they've been working on this car for the owner for many years and have done all the proper work along that time. Would be nice but they said they'd send the carfax this morning and I haven't seen anything yet.
Is this high mileage rare for the 968, whether because they're just treated more like toys or they just can't survive that long?

Don't let the milage scare you. Maintenance records, Clutch, Torque Tube, Suspension, Rotors, all will have needed some attention by 150K.
Outside looks better than the inside. Check for dashboard cracks. Convertible bows. Motor Mounts.
All stuff that I would check.

I am in Gainesville, FL and looked at it today. CARRSMITH is a small foreign mechanic shop, and not a dealership. The shop had a 1977 924, and a 1970 914. The owner drives a Panamera, and worked for Porsche in the 70's. The shop maintained this car for several years for a physician who used to drive it to the golf club. The good: two sets of keys, convertible top works, A/C works amazing, all ***** worked, headlamps pop open, all lights are operable. The Bad: A dent in the rear corner panel, brush paint on side to cover a scratch, needs new motor mounts as car shakes at idle, both rear-lamps are scratched up and need replaced. The shop is selling the car for the owner. I would offer cashier check for 10k.
I am not a 968 person so no emotion was involved. Ha.

Sounds like 1,000-3,000 to get a decent runner, 10,000 for a nice daily, 20,000 for ???????

Yogii, I did not ask about any engine replacement parts as it was at a shop, and did not think to ask as I was talking with the car's mechanic. The clutch was tight and gears were smooth. The paint color is nice. Ok, I am leaving this forum before I have another lawn ornament, Ha. ttyl, Ron-

That looks like a properish price to me. My cabriolet has over 200k miles and runs great, the oil will look still look new when mileage wise time for a change. For sure you'll run into plenty of maintenance. Other than the normal stuff I've replaced pretty much all of my suspension (bushings etc also), had the transaxle and two rear wheel bearings replaced. Still on my original clutch.

94 Guards Red coupe on BaT. Got the feeling this one is going to be another bargain.
