WTB: CD-2 Stereo
#16
Hi 4kix66,
There's no deadline for the project. The CR-1 was manufactured by Becker. The CD-2 was manufactured by Alpine. I don't believe either were installed in Boxsters, but I've been wrong before.
Thanks!

Thanks for the help, folks! I'm not looking to concours show the car. The criteria I have to meet is a radio that was offered as OE equipment +/- 2 years from the date of manufacture. My 968 is a '92. This will allow me to qualify the car as "collector" status with our version of the DMV.
I'm willing to entertain anything that's era correct, but I'd prefer a CD-2. A CR-1 would be suitable as well as it was the OE radio in my car:
331 Cassette-radio Porsche/Becker CR-1
If you've got something to sell, shoot me a message! Thanks!

Of the 4,242 North American 968s, 3,760 had the CR-1.

I hope to go to storage soon to check on this. I may have both or even more than 1. Trouble is, not an easy visit then finding the right box but I have this on my do list.

I'm not sure what unit my "94 had but I should have it somewhere. The CD changer quit working so I upgraded. I never throw anything that might be valuable away but so far I don't seem to be able to find it. I'll keep looking.
