There are a couple solutions that are much less expensive and yield the same or better results. Case in point, on the last couple track 968's I've built, I've been very happy using the double adjustable Koni's with adjustable ride height kit from Jason @ Paragon up front, and the Koni 3012's kit on the rear, also from Jason at Paragon. This setup give you PCA Club Race podium potential for considerably less $. They can also be adjusted to a tolerably firm ride for daily street use.

I'm sure others will chime in with other suggestions. Not saying the KW's are not a great product.

I don't like the looks of those Ground Controls for several reasons. Grade 8 is the same as the factory rear shock bolts so that's not even a selling point; KW V3 came with 10.9. Also, the upper shock spacer looks half-assed and there's no external adjustment that I can see on these. I'm over the days of spending an hours to remove my rear shocks and springs to change damper settings on Koni's vs 10 seconds per side to change damper settings on the KW.

You don't need KW's for that, just get a set of Koni Yellows and go autocrossing. If your stock suspension isn't worn out then just use that.

True enough, but I have close to an extra $1000 in my favor. On the rear, once the compression is set, only 4 positions so that's a max of 3 changes, I leave it alone for that track. Rebound is done from the bottom with an Allen wrench in seconds as the KW. It's a choice of convenience vs price, and I'd venture the performance for the average weekend DE/AutoX driver is indistinguishable. They all work. Same for the Bilstein Firehawk and Escort systems sold by other vendors. The plain Koni Sport yellows are certainly better than stock, but many feel they are quickly outgrown as the driver progresses to a reasonable skill level. It's good to have lot's of choices, and for 968 folks, budget is usually one of the primary considerations. Many folks aren't prepared to drop roughly 30% of their car's value on just suspension. But some are.

Yeah - towing from Tampa was quite interesting! lol I got 8mpg, so basically I towed from gas station to gas station! We rented a garage and had a great time! Will definitely go back, probably next year! Need time to pay off my gas bill! lmao

Thanks guys, very helpful. What I'm after is the best riding (for daily driver purposes--lots of rail road tracks to cross in my area) option that'll still be ok (doesn't have to be fantastic) in the handling department for the odd autox event and track day (nothing serious or competitive). Anything in the ~$3k and under range works for my budget. My stock stuff is very soft/loose, I think the dampers are done (150k miles on what look like stock dampers).
