Well, sorry to **** in the punchbowl, but if this didn't come out of Zuffhousen with all these bits I'm not interested at even half that price. After it leaves the factory, one can glom on as much stuff as they want, it's still not a Porsche 968 Turbo S.

Exactly! Who knows cause it's not a Porsche anymore, it's a one-off homologation of bits left over from previous generations. Not that it won't go fast as stink, but I can go fast as stink for ~$40k pretty easy.

It was factory born as a base 968 coupe without any options other than partial leather. It was one of the last 94s, #712 of 718.

Nice looking car.

How much would it cost to convert an existing car to these specs? I would think $15k buys a very nice 968, then you have $105,000 to spend converting

If this car has some of the original parts, then thats worth some serious $$. Most of the parts are NLA, which makes it almost impossible to build one with factory correct parts now. They have not shared much details as to what is factory and what is not. Looks like a decent conversion. I would atleast have thrown a turbo S splitter to make it look right.

BTW $15k does not buy a nice 968 with such low miles. Car itself has to be worth close to $25k.

I was going to say the same thing, a car with under 15k miles, I wouldn't be surprised if a base model went for over 25k in that condition

Without even considering the asking price, the main let down on this car for me would be the sunroof. It doesn't belong to such a car.

Otherwise I quite like it.

After the 1st sentence, they only tell you about 968s in general. The lack of specifics would either mean they don't know, don't want you to know, figure you should already know, or are lazy perhaps thinking it will sell without any details of the build based upon the name of the original owner.

Only the hood & wheels indicate any thing different from a stock 968 externally. And without any info on the engine, you'd have to really want it to spend anywhere near their asking price. Perhaps double the already mentioned $25k if it were stock value, might be max they could hope for. Unless it being part of a known PO's collection adds any value. Looks very nice though.

The factory 968 turbos used an 8v head.

Thom, all North American cars came spec'ed with sunroof, pwr windows and a few other options. Jeff would be able to elaborate.

True, that said, there a a handful of North American 968s with a sunroof delete. I know of 2 of them but I have to go through all 2,234 in my database to see if there are any others.
