Yep serious. Big local guy, didn't like being uncomfortable. Despite roll cage and safety gear, race engine and suspension he still had a full interior with stereo. He claimed he sometimes listened to the radio during a race.
"Porvette" makes more sense to me, since the Corvette is the only Chevy with the front engine/torque tube/rear transaxle configuration. Not sure who came up with it first - maybe it was Porsche with the 924 or 928.
