Color to sample 968 coupe on eBay
A few had asked me about the color of this car. Imagine my surprise when I checked the database and found the paint code of 99 indicating a color to sample car. Now most of the c2s 968s I have seen are always colors available from a previous model year and no longer available. It is an original 17" cup1 wheel car, nothing else special other then the paint which cost someone $2500 back in 1993. So, what color do you think it is? I did ask. Someone should buy this unique, 1 of 1 car.

It reminds me of Baltic Blue. But the 968 looks a little more silver.

Well, I got the answer and my theory holds up yet again. The car is painted in a 1992 only special metallic color, code 51 venetian blue metallic. They never made a coupe this color in 1992 so this car is likely to be the only one (they did produce 2 cabs in this color).

Is Venetian Blue a color offered on some late eighties 911s?
Did I mention the ad first? Do I win anything? Cookies?
BTW Jeff, today in your general area I saw a Dodge Dakota painted (custom, I imagine) what looked to be a very similar shade to Mint Green. Maybe it was ordered through Dodge's Special Wishes program.....
Your car looks great in it! So unique. The Dodge on the other hand.......
Take care!

94 Coupes:
RS820221 - 944
RS820222 - 993
94 Cabs:
RS840249 - 944
RS840250 - 993
Something to note if you are shopping 94 968s on the net.

Also worth noting is that not every 94 has the newer style seats due to the 718 option. You would need to verify it visually and preferably by VIN and not just the fact that it is a 94.
718 = 93s left over and re-VINed as 94s
Is that stated correctly Jeff?

The VINs below reflect all the 718 cars perfectly (that's how I know where they stop and start).
94 Coupes:
< = RS820221 - 944 (718 cars)
> = RS820222 - 993 (non-718, ture 94s)
94 Cabs:
< = RS840249 - 944 (718 cars)
> = RS840250 - 993 (non-718, true 94s)

Thanks guys for the info! I agree that it is a great color. I was trying to find Baltic Blue when I bought my S2 back in '03 but couldn't find one in the condition I was looking for. I think I like this color even better... It certainly caught my eye.
