i agree with Jeff... the CS stickers and wheels look great! it was a factory option and considering the car was from the early 90s, its period correct! You guys can't tell me that "Carrera" doesn't look good on an early 70's hot rod 911...

the R is actually only 4K more then an S. If you option an S out to have the same performance goodies (LSD, Carbon Sport Buckets, Boxster Spyder super lightweifght wheels, etc) that are stock equipement on an R...the S will cost you more, and still be down on power and up on weight (although slightly in both areas). So the Cayman R is actually a pretty good deal (relative).

Cayman S base price - $62,100
Design Sport Package (Wheels and Aerokit) - $6,200
Sport Bucket Seats - $2,990
Limited Slip Differential - $950
TOTAL - $72,240

The Cayman R is $66,300. For that price you also get features unavailable on the Cayman S - 10 more hp, aluminum doors, Boxster Spyder based suspension, deleted radio, A/C and cupholders.

You would also need PASM (couple grand) on the Cayman S to bring the handling up to par. The Cayman R will still handle slightly better however.

Have my first real issue with re-assembly. The sunroof seal is new and it's HUGE! Ok, it's not the wrong part but it doesn't let the sunroof slide into place like the old one. BTW this is the rubber seal on the sunroof itself not the seal on the body. Anyone else replace this rubber and have the same issue?

Looks great! I am sure it feels good to have everything back together. I hate to say this . . but . . if you are going to keep the white wheels . . I would go with the CS stickers. When the paint is cured of course.

To me, the CS stickers are no different than placing sponsor stickers all over your race car. Or putting RWB letters all over the front and back of your awesome RAUH Welt-BEGRIFF Porsche. If it works for you, than go for it. It seems far more natural to see this type of treatment on a Porsche given it's heritage, racing vs some of the other car makes in my opinion.

Very nice, did you have the wheels redone or they just cleaned up real nice?

It's the lighting. The wheels are starting to yellow around the edges. Going to try some wheel cleaners to spruce them up. Re-doing the wheels has crossed my mind.

You might just have luck with a nonabrasive chlorine-bleach based household cleaner like "Comet Soft Cleanser". Something which suspends bleach in a thick cream so it can sit on the surface for a while and whiten things. I dont' have white wheels but situations similar to this have come up for me in the past.

But I'd do the wheels in silver, or maybe body color...

If you're keeping the wheels white, I'd go with the CS decals. If you're going to silver, no decals.
That's just my opinion though.
Is the car actually a CS or modified like one?

I'm leaning to modifying it to be a CS clone. Heck, I'm just a rear-seat delete and coil-over kit away anyways. Based on what 968 racers say, I think I'll leave the brakes stock unless I go nuts and buy a supercharger
In the end, it will be more like the UK "sport" version than a true CS clone.

Just my $.02 but looking at that gorgeous blue paint job, you should 'consider' either going back to silver for the wheels, or perhaps. like I've seen on some newer GT3s and GT3 RS cars, and don't take this the wrong way, perhaps, consider painting the wheels bright red. Maybe someone can do a photoshop so we can see the possible results. BTW I am also considering painting my track wheels red and adding a red ClubSport side script to my white 968. For reference, my white 993 has a silver Carrera sidescript with silver MY02 or Technology Twist wheels....depending on my mood.
