Got the car back as of Wed. afternoon and I'm begining the carefull process of re-assembly without scratching the new paint.![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
I am also creating DIY manuals for common body work ie: headlights, antenna, window motors, and door locks.

Taking me longer than expected to re-assemble. I spend about 1 hour per part just figuring out which way the new rubber goes.![crying](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigcry.gif)
I'm ditching the crappy weatherstrip cement I picked up from Kragen and ordering some Wurth glue from Pelican. Looks like the car won't be done for finals week.
Everything is sooooo shiny.

Like I said, I need time for the sticker/ no sticker decision.
I have to wait 2 months for the paint to cure properly so no stickers or "968" emblems till then.
Once the whole car is together I can make a better judgement call on it.
I do think the white wheels look off without the matching stickers.

blechhhhhhhhhhhhhh..........
the entire Clubsport lettering/matching gawdy wheel episode was one of the worst decisions Porsche ever made.
always trying to do gay **** to sell entry-level, much-ado-about-nothing, near-beer sports cars.
the 968 doesn't need that crap and never did. simple 968CS lettering on the back would have sufficed.
so even if Porsche can't get a clue, at least we can. TY.

yes.
despite being and over-engineered bugwagon, at least the effin' car goes a hundred and ninety miles an hour and Walter Rohrl can turn it pretty good. and after all that, i'd be tempted to put a very subtle (smaller like on some of the new cars) checkerboard swash on any Cobalt P-car...

Personally, I kinda like the Club sport sticker and think it would work well with the white wheels. Then again, I like the Mint green on the cab as well so consider the source.

i like Minty a lot.... it's gorgeous, it came from the factory with good performance and it has a full-leather interior....
(mothball the stock steering wheel) and add a CS wheel—and 'what's not to like ?'![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
but these Clubsport cars, i'm not drinking the Porsche Kool-aid. just because they were nice enough to manufacture an update to the 944 for a couple of years, doesn't mean i'm not going to take exception when Porsche tries to dress up a car that's missing; 1. an airbag, 2. AC, 3. rear seat; and then acting like it's something truly unique and different.... then, dressing it up in the silliest way possible, all for a car goes maybe 1 mph faster ?? big deal. every other car manufacturer on the face of the earth (except Porsche??) knows that less is more. look at the badging of the 968 Turbo S... it's perfect.
they could have made their front-engine car program work.... if the Eagle Talon can be made with a turbo.... if a Subaru can be made with a turbo... look once more at the history of the 968.... they CS thing was done because the overpriced entry-level cars weren't selling..... the next step up from a normal 968 should have been a Turbo 968.... an shouldn't have cost 104 thousand dollars. so, yes, i'm calling Porsche out..... they really f_cked up their whole entry-level, front-engine sports car program...
to repeat an astute observation made by one of the Rennlisters;
they're still doing it with the Boxster/Cayman. since when does a hard top version of an entry-level cab car that comes with an engine that's exactly 5.8 % larger than their entry-level car deserve to be priced so much higher, and be considered to be in a class all by itself ??
half the **** they do is a significant insult to their loyal customers. situation normal for Porsche.

There was a beautiful 968 Club sport tribute at Hershey this year that I'm sure you would have liked. It was all black but still had the Club sport decal in flat black on the gloss black paint.

odurandina I agree with you 150% about the 968 Turbo. Porsche really dropped the ball, but look at their situation back then. The 968 and 928 were hemorrhaging company cash and Porsche was on the verge of shutting down. The front engine coupe's had to die so that Porsche would still exist today.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the "Club Sport" and UK only "Sport" cheaper versions of the stock car?
AKA, the way it should be. Less stuff = less price. Not this $6,000 premium on the Cayman R that makes no sense at all.
I also agree that the 68 Turbo didn't need any stickers or painted wheels to grab your attention. But frankly the hood ducts, 18" rims, front splitter, and bigger spoiler scream "boy racer." Which I am
