Question Got Junk?

OK, who has the worst 968 here? :thumb up:

Mine's a 1994 that spent many years baking in the FL sunshine. Paint is shot, rubber seals are gone, even the orange coloring has been baked out of the clock hands. They are almost white. Anyway it is a perfect place to start a project! So, who has the worst 968?

If the car has never been wrecked and is good mechanically I would say it looks like a good project car.

Gene, I think you should just sell it to me.....lol... She would be so much happier here with her siblings.

I can help, let's see, gauges, seats, molding, paint, .... Just leave me the car and pick in up in may, Ill keep the spending under 8k.

Kidding, but I do have all those parts. Cheers, mike

56 views and I'll still the worst LOL!
This was a great find for me. Correction: it was found for me by a good friend (the kind of friend who will actually pay the down payment until you can get back into town). Never wrecked and a straight body. I've got a full two tone gray interior waiting in the garage. Debating the paint color at this time.

That's a real beauty! With the right TLC it can be brand new all over again. ;-)

Does you two tone interior look like this,if so go with a "Amazone Green Metallic " exterior.

no worries. my old mule is full of warts. and some good stuff too.

after you do the seat covers and a good polish the car will be fine. easy fixes.

serious problems;

dents to the tub.

hail damage.

blown engines.

bent valves.

hell even the odd blown tranny isn't the end of the world.

everthing else is negotiable — on your timetable.

WAIT.... my son should be coming home from college in the next few weeks with the 968. For some reason more dents, scratches, bald tires, and interior tears appear every time he brings it home. But then again....... maybe it is just me

Gene, mine is not too far off from your car condition wise. Mostly neglect. But what the heck. It's just time and money spent on what we love.

If you got to re-color some of trims go with SEM,on the black use "Satin Black #15243" it will be very close to the OEM color. www.semcolorcoat.com Click SEM Products-home & Sem Vinyl & Plastic Color Coat for color chart reference.Btw another color which will match well with your interior will be Midnigth Blue. But like everything else car color is up to one personnal taste.Hope you are aware that changing a car color is no small feat & can end up being a very costly adventure.I once did it on a 914 & a friend of mine on his 931 but both cars were strip down to bare tubs plus the only expense was the paint & material because they were both DIY.

Thanks for the trim tip. Had a Midnight Blue cab in the past and looking for something a bit off the beaten path but also something that I won't regret later. And yes, the color change will be complete with matching jams etc.

Ernie,
I hope to one day get my car looking as good as yours. I know what you mean about the chameleon, is it green or is it blue?

Doug
