Default Is anyone familiar with this 968 chip?

Does anyone have, or know of someone who has had, experience with this particular 968 chip that is being sold on Ebay? Racing Pros??

Click the thumbnail to see their Ebay ad:

Seems to claim similar #s to most of the more accepted chips being sold. Seems worth a try for the price if there is no potential permanent harm being risked??

I've read most of the library of threads on chips for 968s & haven't seen these mentioned, but maybe I missed the discussion. And I'm not attempting to start another debate on all of the other chips that are available, just curious about these for now?

I know for the 928s there are some who copy other's chips, (incl. the Autoauthority chips) & have sold on Ebay & apparently they are fine.

I think your best bet would be to stick with the known 968 chips such as RS Barn or there's another one that is favored here(the name has slipped my mind). Not worth risking your engine's health for an unknown chip.

What specifically would a chip cause harm? I realize the rev limiter being raised too high would be a potential problem, but what else could it do harm to?
thnx!

and my quest isn't to be cheap in buying a discounted chip, just curious as to whether anyone knew anything about this brand.

FWIW i don't think our top speed was limited... could be wrong though... so i would assume that advertising that the chip removes that limiter would be a bit disconcerting...

It is probably a clone of an existing chip. You can buy a chip burner and easily start making copies of any chip. In the end, it's about peace of mind.
Most chips increase the redline by a little, some a lot. Not sure what long term effects are with a much higher rev limit. Chips also help smooth out cold start hiccups.
A respected member is selling his Promax chip for 50% off. Might be worth considering.

Already sent him a PM last night, waiting to hear back from him.
I agree about peace of mind, especially from the perspective if there's any potential risk of harm to the car.
