Default The repair job...

Well you may have seen the video of me getting hit twice at Mid Ohio a couple of weeks ago with the 2nd hit being the more damaging one. So, I got the car ready to run in the 2nd race which was on Sunday and got about 1/2 way when I started loosing coolant. The problem was the radiator got pushed back just enough to rub on the pwr steering pulley. So I pulled in and packed up!!

Got and home and pulled the right fender and the bumper cover off. The bumper was mashed in and up on the right underside and the inner fender was pushed back a little bit.

So I ordered the body parts from heavenly in Ca and they came in today and while the bumper is better than my steet 968 the fender is not as good. I then decided to take the bumper cover off the street 968 and put it on the race car. The only issue is the new bumper cover is setup for headlight washers so i will at least have to get the covers/nozzles.

That is where I am so far and have about 2 weeks to get everything finished and get it aligned.

Thanks,

You could also fill in the holes for the washers, since they are not that big.

Yes seen the video, glad you and the other guy were ok, just a little too aggressive by the other guy.
Anyway, as I don't have them in mine, but are the holes round? On my 911 when I removed the bumperettes on the back I just went to Lowes/Home Depot and found plastic plugs and painted them to match, you had to be pretty close to notice them.

No they are oval, making it very hard to find plugs for them.

Great news Mike... Glad to see you will be done.... Hopefully there are no issues when they put it on the rack...

Since you just researched it... I also need a bumper... do you know if they have another?

Do you mean Parts Heaven? Heavenly is a ski resort.

I hope you can get it up and running in time for your next event.

The folks in NC had one but couldn't commit to the color and I didn't want to paint! Another RL poster had one but not red so he might be a good fit.

Glad you got it figured out, wish I could of helped, never heard back. I promise I would of got you those parts cheaper than you paid. I would take what ever was fair for both of us.(shameless plug) ..understand the paint, glad you found red. Either way happy you are back on your feet. BTW, in the video I would swear the 944 should of rolled- did it?

Cheers, Mike

Mike

I should have called you...my bad. Yes the S2 rolled 2.5 times and ended on his roof. The way it is going I should just do a package for all the sheet metal I might need...lol. I just didn't want to pay for more painting right now the way it's going!!

No worries - Seeing that this year has been a challenge at the track I might consider installing zippers.. LOL

Good luck - Mike
