Default Almost Done!

It's been almost three months and I am nearly done with with "Phase 1".

Thirty days after I bought the car, the Tip damper went out. I decided to get caught up on some maintenance and upgrades while the car was out of commission.

It's been almost twenty years since I got my hands this dirty in a car. Work done so far:

Replace Tip damper. (Would not wish this on my worst enemy...)
RS Barn cat-back exhaust
Timing Belt
Balance Belt
Front engine seals, races and rollers
AC/Alt Belt
PS Belt
Door handle seals
ROW front turn signals
Wrinkle black finish on valve cover
Aluminum finish on intake manifold and fuel rail cover
18x8.5 and 18x10 Turbo Twist replicas with 235/40/18 and 265/35/18
Keyless entry
Removed stereo and replaced with 944 DIN sized cubby.

I still have a few things left including replacing the starter, but I should be back on the road again by the end of the month after what seems like forever.

When I read "wrinkle black" I thought '70s British, but it looks very good. Maybe I'll see it at the July Cars and Coffee?

I would like to be at Cars and Coffee in July. I'm working on it...
I like the 930s wheel, but I have to work slowly. My wife thinks I'm done and I'm actually just getting started.

Beautiful car! Don't forget the airbox mod and K&N, unless you've done it already.

I put the filter in, but I have not drilled any holes yet. I do have the 4 ports ready to go...

Before you drill holes in your airbox, I would be willing to swap my drilled airbox for your stock airbox. Let me know if you are interested.

Nice work on the engine - it looks amazingly clean. I'm not a fan of the black wrinkle finish but I can appreciate the cleanliness of the work.

I gotta be honest - that down-turned tailpipe doesn't really suit the look of a 968 IMHO. If you like it then great!

The paint looks great, I love the painted rear spoiler - it works well with that color, and I like the tint on the rear glass. I like euro turn signals, I'm sure they look great on your car. The 18" twists look good too, but I would have fit wider rubber on the rear. You probably like the stretched look .

Your radio delete mod sounds interesting; I'd love to see what that double cubby setup looks like!

Thanks, but I'm not 100% on this yet. I don't like the idea of hacking up my car unless I can put it back stock easily. I'm leaning towards buying a second airbox to play with at some point.

It looks better in person, I think. I have a few more things to add that will really set it off.

I bought it from a guy that used it on his race car for two seasons. Next step is to have it cut off and replaced with something a little more becoming.

The rear ET is 47. I was afraid to go any wider especially as I'd like to lower the car a little.

Crappy picture below. I like it, but it is not as seamless as I hoped it would be. I replaced the long antenna with a 3" stubby.
