I would verify they are "big reds" and not just painted calipers first.
"BR's" on a cab just sound wierd.
Unless you did it then it's cool.

That looks like a stock Brembo 968 caliper, not a "Big Red" to me. Got another picture of it?

Big red = 928 GTS (stock caliper is black but design is same) and 964 Turbo 3.6. M030 caliper is same as 928 S4/GT and originally black.

If you do have big reds, then you may want to put in the 928 proportioning valve to put a little more rear bias to balance everything out, as I and others have done.

that picture isn't very helpful, but what you DO got there are stock 968 "baby blacks" painted red.

just get a pack of stock PBR pads for like 35 bucks. done.

Those are definitely not big reds. Those ridges are the giveaway. They are stock brake calipers painted red. Sorry, bummer!

So...was the installation a simple plug & play bolt up?

I'm interested to know your experience with the swap Damian.

The only thing I had to finesse were the wheels-for some reason standard offsets for the Supercups 17" wheel didn't allow enough room, but when I ordered them the guys at Wheel Enhancement asked me what brakes I had. Thank God they asked, or else I would've had to send them back.

I believe standard 17" Cup 1 or 2's do clear Big Reds. The only other changes I made were putting cross drilled rotors on the rear and the proportioning valve change.

Thanks for the info Damian.

I don't recall the 968 offset off the top of my head. Do you happen to recall the offset the wheels you now have came with?

Again - thanks for the information. I'm leaning to this as a future mod to my project (somehow being able to go faster requires being able to stop faster too!).

Jay, in case if you do get the proper "big reds", make sure you swap the bleed screw and the oil lines on the calipers. Big Blacks have it in the proper location but since "big reds" were mounted on a 964 ahead of the front axle, their bleed screws need to be flipped.
Hope that wasn't too confusing.
