Default New Koni yellows, but...

it seems as though the rear "bump stops" are keeping the car too high. The rear is sitting almost 1" higher than previously.

Any thoughts?

My assumption is that your old shocks were completely worn down and dead. All bump stops should do it stop the shock from bottoming out. You are getting the same effect as when people go to M030 rears with helper springs. The added effective spring rate if what is causing your car to sit higher.
Looks like you need to readjust the camber plates.

That's my plan but right now it looks like a rally car!

Thanks Raj. That's what I thought also but it seemed odd. Yes, my old ones were cooked.

I had the same problem on my 968 when I put koni's on. You have to adjust the eccentric bolt, that will take you down anywhere from 0-1" depending on where it is currently set. If you don't get any drop after adjusting, you have two choices: re-index torsion bars or remove them (adding coils), neither of which is particularly easy if you've never done it.

I was sitting at 27.5 with the new konis, now at 26.5 after adjustment.

Don't forget to tighten the shock bolts with the suspension loaded or you will rip the rubber bushings. You can get about 3/4 in. lower in the rear with adjusting the eccentric. You will need an alignment after lowering the rear because it has a HUGE affect on the camber of the rear tires. If you remove the torsion bars and go to a coil over shock make sure the shocks have bearings rather than rubber bushings in the bolt holes. The rubber cannot handle the load of the car and will push out of the shock.
