Am i missing something? Door removal electrical dissconnect question.
OK - I am removing a door today and cannot find an electrical connection for the door harness. Is it in the chassis or the door, or do you have to leave the harness with the chassis and remove it from the door to prevent cutting anything.....?
I looked in the factory manual and nothing. Anyone removed a cab door before?
I thought there was a plug to disconnect but I cann't seem to find it.. its a 92 FYI.
Thanks for any help or snide remarks.. Cheers, Mike

There are a few plugs that remain with the body. They are the ones that control the windows, the locks etc. You need to disconnect them and then leave them with the body.

On my '94 coupe, the wiring disconnects for the drivers door was way up under the dash, at the point where the side kick panel, firewall and the cowl panel (that the fuse box is mounted to) meet together. Basically, it's the furthest point forward, upward and laterally outward of the footwell (does that make sense?) I only had to remove the driver's door, so I never bothered to locate the passenger side connectors.
The connectors are actually mounted to the cowl panel forward and outward of the fuse box opening. It's a pair of flat connectors like for the seats, I think one was six pin and the other was eight. They're right next to each other. Once you unplug them, the harness can be pulled down through the kick panel.
