Sorry to resurrect this thread from many years ago, but my dad has one of the 92 Black script seats and headlight washers 968s in maritime blue. It's a tiptronic also. I just thought I'd contribute (way too late). We're in the bay and he bought the car approximately 3 years ago from a gentleman in Hayward. Needed a little work (that's my department) but he drives it every now and then.

After reading some more, it looks like this is the car FRporscheman looked at in 2010. Rough was probably a good estimate. So far we've replaced all belts/rollers, alternator, stopped a host of oil leaks, new exhaust system properly mounted and the front chin spoiler/grill assembly, rear lock and switch for trunk release, a short that killed the battery every few days.... Always some more to do but it runs very well now. I'm working on replacing the timing covers where the distributor mounts.
Here's some pictures (I hope)
And the whole gang. The 914 is mine and the 924 turbo is gone.

1991 S2 cabriolet maritime blue, black/black w,86k original miles. Very nice carfax originally sold in southern CA built in 12/90 and as far as I can tell im the fourth owner. Its in very good condition with color matched 968 mirrors and handles. Not really any good options other than the original color. I have purchased this car it's now in my garage and I will be doing a full service to get it up to date. As well as returning it to 96% stock down to the original cr1 stereo. However I just have to add color matched cup I wheels to it as the color just needs to be taken notice of.....ha ha I will add pics after I give it a full carpet out detail and multi stage polish.
Jeff has kindly informed me that it is the 5th from last 944 ever imported into America by Porsche according to vin #. And as always I would love to hear feedback to see if anyone has seen or heard of another North America 1991 maritime S2 as this was only year available for 944?

Just thought I would post a few pictures up as the weather here has been excellent last few weeks and I have been enjoying on the weekends. I wish my kids were old enough to come with so I could drive it more as it sits mostly. I just gave it a fresh 3 stage 3M polish and buffing. I have recently last year gone completely through this car, recovering sport seats with new leather, blue stitched steering wheel leather, new shift boot, 968 rear cubby, rebuilt torque tube, resealed tranny, new clutch and all hydraulics, new belts and rollers, new cam chain and tensioner pads, freshly painted to match 17" wheels, new german soft top boot (cover) etc, etc........
