Let's not all forget, the 968 turbo S was a homologation special. They needed to build a certain number of copies to be able to race it as an RS. The run of turbo S cars was enough to allow them to race in different forms of racing. I doubt Porsche ever built the turbo S to be a production car. ..

After the Group C, 968 turbo RS and the carrera RSR 3.8 were built for the new GT championships (in Germany it was the "ADAC GT Cup").
Therefore a street legal version (968 turbo S resp. carrera RS 3.8) had to be built.

There are a few threads about this car. Apparently, it has serious overheating issues that have never been solved. The car has been for sale for YEARS!

The shop where its currently on consignment is not far from me, ive been there a few times to have state inspections done. They are good guys, but they never struck me as modded turbo guys. So i wouldnt expect them to know too much about it.
