Default splitter

I had to take off my batwing to replace a foglight, I fitted up a splitter I picked up when Rick DeMan moved out of Nyack ( he said the fellow he made it for didn't want it ) and hey, it fits pretty well ! Still have to massage holes for the bolts that go into the rear under tray. Since fibreglass splitters don't last very long, I guess I won't have to worry about this one forever but it goes with my red Pegasus decals... Donn

It's a good look. Hopefully it lasts long enough for you to source a good replacement.

Not sure if you are aware, but a front splitter from a SEAT Leon Cupra R, (thats if this car is available in the states), but they go straight on and here in the UK cost £20

No, the SEAT is not available here in the US.
However, you may have just stumbled upon a rather profitable enterprise, given the expected # of people who would buy a PU 968 splitter for less than $50.

Saw your car parked at Lime Rock last saturday. That's my splitter. I figured it would have a limited life on the front of a race car, so I removed it from my car after sourcing a genuine Porsche Motorsport p/u splitter through Raj (which is still on the "Amy" car today).

I seem to recall that, along with a ton of other parts belonging to me, I did request its return, but was told it couldn't be "located".

The Cupra R is not available in the US, but the Cupra R lip certainly, is, it's a very popular addition to Mk4 Volkswagens. I can't remember where they get them, but if you want one, just stick your head into the steaming ****pile that is VWVortex and ask them

Hey, Richard, I'm glad you didn't have a floor jack, phillips driver, and 10mm ratchet with you...

I thought you did that race last year ( I was working flag station 10 ) how come you didn't come this year ? DeMan Motorsports had a bunch of cars there, almost all Boxsters as I recall...

There were two Mobil1 liveried 968's, Joe's and I don't know the other guy ( I think Mobil should be paying these guys ). Plus a black one did Friday's DE. Somebody loaded my camera with dead AA's otherwise I'd have posted pictures ( from pit in/out where I was this year ), but it's a good event, too bad it's the same weekend as Hershey... Donn

Donn,

Trust me, I had access to all the tools needed for speedy removal of the splitter!

It looks good on your car . . . I hope it lasts you quite a while.

I usually run at LRP, but experienced an engine "hiccup" at NASA event @ NJMP the week before. The car is back together and I'm back from 2 days @ NJMP w/ Schattenbaum Region PCA. It feels much better now.

Hope we have a chance to meet this season. Ciao.
