ummm, Raj, with all due respect, this is not your *daddy's motor oil. 0w40 synthetic is every bit as thick as 15w50 mineral oil at operating temp.... we're talking winter, where the difference is how it functions during daily, cold startups, thus, rendering the easy choice instead of running heavier synthetics... the new 5w50 oil will by my springtime and fall oil forevermore, as it's their replacement line for their old ep 10w40....

*(remember what you found after i ran just one batch of mineral oil)?

oh, and you better not buy a ferrari, since you probably won't like running Mobil 1 0w20

You would blow through that oil in no time. Engine tolerances today are much tighter. A 0 weight oil will blow through a 968 engine in no time.

Ernie, I knew Chris bought the car, I was just being sarcastic

Chris, 2400 miles is a lot! Don't forget to change your oil.

__Glad your back we were getting bore here, the VR1 I likey seem to be doing the job just fine.In fact the oil pressure went up 1bar after a good run and the car idling at 850 RPM with the temp gauge at the 3/4 mark, before it will hoover just a little over 2 bar in the same situation now it's at 3 bar.Now I'm waiting for Eric 951 to send me some Red Line from Montreal (can't get it here)I'm dumping the Castrol Syntech from the diff/tranny & trying Red line will see.

Ernie - AH, well I guess sometimes it's hard to portray or perceive emotion as intended on a forum...

I have known of a few people with lsd who used the redline gear oil for lsd, and they liked it, but I couldn't tell you how they compared it to other products. Maybe you can start a new thread, to get more attention?

so cleaned the car today for the first time in a few months... Ernie, I know you'll be pleased to hear that! lol

Also updated a few mods in the ol' sig!

Haven't done a dyno yet and probably won't ever get around to it but it sure feels faster!
