Default Fuel rail/cam cover absorbers...

Hi
I've just bought a 968CS which I am giving some much needed TLC...

Took my fuel rail cover off and noticed that one of the rubber absorbers which seemed to be attached to the cam cover (near variocam) has split and fell away. The other side looks like it's going too. They don't seem to be a seperate part on the PET system and I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and any suggestions on repairs?

Thanks
Gary

I had the same problem. You can get new ones, they just screw in, it's simple. See PET illustration 103-05, it's part 37.

A set of nose plier work great at getting the old broken piece off. This is a common failure from heat cycles.

I drilled two little tiny holes in the metal stubs so I could use snap ring pliers to unscrew them. Maybe it was overkill...
