very much thanks to you all for the kind words about my project. not exactly sure what this post means but, if anyone thinks this mod has a place in their future car plans.... i say DO IT ! but extreme caution: consider it took a lot of careful measuring and cutting (understating) and i could have just as easily ruined the 997 splitter, but i got lucky.... since i know exactly where to cut and paste, it will be far easier to just pick one up and send it to me and i can mod it. i need to get a new one anyway so i can draw exactly where to make the 6 cuts that are required of the 997 splitter; so if anyone wishes to do one, pm.

+1, that blue is awesome. this is really odd, because i've got a list of like 6 favorite colors to paint my car... the other day i saw yet another Corvette blue color (monterrey blue now on my list) that was amazing and is virtually identical to yours.

Mark and Benji, please post your front valence project/sale offers here.

here's a lambo in monterrey blue;

I know the UK guys at Zunsport and they make great grills and you can buy universal mesh from them. I also have other contacts for you so will PM you in the morning as plastic is best for your app

Just fabulous! You can see from my avatar that I wanted to modify the car as well but too much money and not enough guts. I cannot wait to see the finished product odurandina. Keep up the excellent work!

much thanks. this is kind of strange... i was going to pm you tonight because i noticed you hadn't posted here. (as your avatar has been an inspiration). but couldn't find your home page.

i was away on business for 5 weeks so i didn't have any oportunity to work on this but now, working on this long hours (i'm kind of slow), as this thing is now getting close... gonna be up late closing that gap between the two pieces on the lower inside corners.

thank you, Mark.... i'm looking at universal kits now and found two patterns i like. i just might be able to make one work. one thing i've been thinking much about during the past few weeks is how to make these 993 hid headlamp assemblies fit inside your fenders. maybe i could cut like an 18" incision along the top of the ridge line, and raise the domes upward. then weld on new panels with the plastic welder and re-sculpt the domes to a proper shape with bondo....

leaning toward the first one, the 'hexagon.'

it's also sturdier than the 'honeycomb.' gonna specify black powdercoat. which do you all like better?

ended up going with this one. it was pricey but i really like it ! *(it appears Ferrari likes it too).

gonna be up late laying down more resin. and then more sanding tomorrow.

it also appears they increased the price from $150 to $166 shortly after placing my order.

Bentley uses that too.

Which, of course, is another reason I kind of like the first pattern a bit better

Can't wait to see how this turns out! I'm dying for an update...
