Default Orange 968 Coupe in TopGear 24hr race at Silverstone

Did anyone catch an orange 968 coupe that was often shown racing in the background in one of the recent episodes of TopGear where they ran a 24hr enduro race at Silverstone in a BMW 330d. They showed the car atleast a few times and I was wondering if it's someone on the board or if someone has information on it.
It looked really awesome.

Paul's a great guy, he brought me out of London to the Bedfordshire Autodrome for a track day once.

Yup Paul is a real gent, helped me out with my 968 problems and recommended EMC, I've been using them ever since.

Here's a link to Paul's race car site . . .

They've done far too many in a myriad of colours to keep track of them all.

This one is awesome . . .

Yuup, that's the car. You guys are an awesome bunch. Thanks for sharing. Good to see our cars represented with such other exotics.

There were two 968's run inthe 24hr race. Both of the shells were prepped by EMC and the orange car was built by EMC. the green car was put togetherby Ian at County Classics and then both cars were run under the "County EMC" monika.

Differences between the cars was minimal, the green one ran with a Diff and Big reds and the Orange one was diff-less and ran with M030 calipers.

The cars finished 18th and 19th overall and 3rd and 4th in class, line astern albeit one lap apart.

The Orange car arrived at the circuit having been freshly prepared and I mean "Fresh" the paint was still tacky!! There was no pre weekend test of the car and the engines were run in during qualifying.

I was lucky enough to be one of the drivers in the Orange car and I think its me in the car during teh night shots on TG in front of the white one series. It was also the orange car that JC hit in Copse, he refers to it as a 944 during the show ( because he's an idiot )

It was a stunning wekend and an experience that I'll never forget. There's nothing quite like turning into a corner that you cant see and praying that you've missed the wall!

I love that Dave keep repeating the show as well.... nothing us racing driver love more than having our ego's stroked!! LOL

Thanks for sharing Lali, sounds like a wonderful experience. Any chance you can share some pictures with us? I also noticed them calling the 968 a 944 which ticked me off as well.

We did spend ome time chatting with the TG guys in the morning, richard and JC were quite chatty and happy to take on boar some tips on driving Silverstone, James May on the other hand i found to be a complete T£$T had a real "i'm famous you're not... you how dare you speak to me" attitude.

I'll post some pics up on Photobucket and then come back with the link.....

I know Paul and Adrian quite well...
however we went to see them race a few weeks back and my youngest promptly shouts.. "Look there's Daddies racecar!" oops!!

Thank you Lali, I loved that video! Was your 968 maritime blue? That's my favorite color! Or, favourite colour!

Do you use turn indicators to allow passing in the UK? I was watching for waves or point-bys.

Thank you very much for sharing. These are the kinds of posts I always look forward to.
