Nice work guys! Keep it up and maybe when I finish my car I can move on to cosmetics and take some of these sweet parts off your hands!
Thanks Nick ... I hear you, these cars are like a never ending project and maintenance plan

WOW, Nick work!!!

Can you compare weight of stock 968 front fenders + head lamps and repro 968 fenders for 993 head lamps + the factory 993 head lamps? Can Litronic 993 head lamps be used?
Thanks again, I’ll ask Beni to do a full weight of package plus weight savings over stock setup. What i can guarantee is that the saving are going to be signification Yes Litronic 993 head lamps can be used but you’ll have to cut part of the chassis to make fit. To be honest and as any 993 owner will tell you – the Litronic are not very good nor a significant performace enhancement over stock. Stock 993 headlight are also very poor and we always recommend simply fitting HID balasts which are very cheap and much better performace. The 4800k kits are the best ... basically the higher the “K” value the bluer/purple the light and the less the perform / the lower the “K” the more yellow and better the performace. 4800k offers a very nice white light which we think best. Below is a pic with 5000k which are far to blue for my liking but will give you an idea of how bright they are (sorry for the poor quality phone pic):

awesome work. Best 993 headlight kit i've sen so far in regards to the fit & quality of work. The only other kit that was as good or close to being as good is Arktechs nla kit. However, their kit was built using fiberglass if i'm not mistaken...so even if the craftsmanship was as good, the material used wasnt.
Thanks Fox, yes the Arktech kit looked very very nice but when I spoke to the company they stated that the Maritime blue car you reference was a custom setup (It was actually owned by a company owner whom specialised in counterfeit handbags and the name of his company can be seen on the car) which actually never made it to production which was a shame otherwise we’d have simply purchased that if available. There old 968 race car is now back on the market again apparently, they still do have the mould for that though.

holy f_cking crap !! thank you !!!!

i have a rather serious question.... if i put these fenders on.... will they come off the car after 190~195 mph ?

otherwise i wish to be one of the first to order a set. so, please pm...... i also wan't to know what we can do about adding HID lights to your masterpiece work !!..... seriously, wow !!..... by the way, just wanted to mention to the guys the rear seat delete is another "must have," great product that creates tons of space for travel. my car is like a mini station wagon.

now, if i could just find a new rear carpet (in grey as it helps keep the car cool).....
Guaranteed they will not come off ... I’ll send you a PM with more details. We can arrange HID for you at very minimal price or put you in direct contact with a lace to buy in the US (Loads of good info for HID on the 993 Board of RL).

Again thanks for the compliments on our Rear Seat Delete – these have proved to be a very good seller since I developed it some 4 years ago I just wish we could get the costs down on the carpet which we have to outsource.

I hear you on the rear trunk carpet also – we need a black one desperately but can’t find one which fits the bill. In fact the interior is the only real thing which is holding our project 968 up and we are beginning to wish we never sold the Sports Seat which came with the car

The good news is that this kit including all lights and OEM 993 lens, wiring harness etc will only cost a little more than you can sell your OEM steel fenders for.

WOW! Great work guys, I'm very impressed. Just hearing that you're offering this together with headlights at 1/6th the weight of stock is tempting me to ditch my "beloved" pop-up!

Also, I don't mean to nag, but this IS the thread for the TRSII wing...are you guys making any progress at all on the active-airbrake version? I'm itching to hear more about it...
Cheers mate .. yep your right I should have dug up the original thread I posted. I need to finish the project 993 and once Beni has finished this one then he moves back onto his race car project which is when we will revisit the active rear wing <-- This will probably be mid Summer this year, I’ll keep the progress updated.

Very nice work!!!
Many thanks for the compliments Joel ... It makes all those days of hard sanding and messing about with smelly and messy FRP all worth it

I promise full car pictures and night shots very soon.

Best regards,
mark & Beni

Great! I suppose I'm not in a huge rush, just so long as I know that the project's not been forgotten. I've really got my heart set on getting it on my car eventually

Absolutely gorgeous! Well done fellas!

So you produce versions without the holes for the side marker lights, right? For us over here on this side of the pond.

Default 993 headlight/wings

Awesome work you guys are amazing! I can't wait to hear the cost and see how many guys in the US are really interested. Anybody up for a group purchase?? This would be the finishing touch on my current LS2/3 project.

seems that would be a bit like asking; "can we give the Space Shuttle a piggyback ride on a Saturn Five Rocket ?" do the laws of physics prevent it ? no. does that mean anyone should do it ? no...... i don't think there would be much of a buzz about installing the front of a 968 on a 944. go look at a 959, a 968, and a 944.... someone was selling a kit awhile back, much to the horror of most of the 924/944/968 community... just don't think a 944 was ever meant to look like the "front-engine-four" version of the 959.

however, you can't exactly say that about the 964, or 968, which can easily be modded to look either very nearly or similar to a 959 or 993.... it's fine to mod the fenders of a 964 or 968 to help this take place, because after all, it's mostly only the fenders (not wishing to get too in-depth about 964 mods)..... and also, these cars were introduced shortly after the the 959s were built..... the conversions are a personal choice and come out very good.

In all fairness, after front fenders all you'd need is a rear 968 bumper which is the easiest part of the whole process... instant cosmetic 968! Well and a hood... and side skirts... and a front bumper... just saying its not all that different either!

man i want this kit! im thinking of ways to sell off my fenders and light units already... hmmmmm

924/944/951 Racers might find a lightweight version (CF?) together with a lightweight hood very attractive, because:

- better light (more modern lighting, perhaps even the possibility of LED lights);

- better aerodynamics (at least at night); and

- considerable weight savings (which will also be upfront).

Also would make a turbo/supercharger installation easier (no headlight linkage).

I did not mean it as a "conversion kit" to make a 944 to look like a 968 or a 993 (at least upfront), but as a means for improving the aesthetics and utility of the 924/944/951.

I believe they also did a Red 968, although i may be mistaken. I have pics on my pc at home of a red car parked next to the blue one. Both had the 993 Headlight kit. Will have to check tonight.

When will they be ready and how much? PM if you like.
The kit is ready now and currently available in 2 versions:
V1 - Both fenders manufactured in FRP twill weave for additional strength and lightness @ 950 Euros (This is for those whom would like to run OEM 993 Bosch light units but slight chassis mods are required)
V2 - As per above but including the 993 OEM glass lens covers and our lightweight light units (no chassis mods required) and all wiring / fixing plus mounting brackets @ 1550 Euros
V3 – CF wings, price TBC.

Looks great guys! Mark or Beni please contact me, I sent both of you PM's, thanks!
Hi Colin, PM’ed you mate

Great! I suppose I'm not in a huge rush, just so long as I know that the project's not been forgotten. I've really got my heart set on getting it on my car eventually
Thanks and we’ll keep you posted with progress ... to be honest and as many know we are running behind with all developments at the moment but I guess that’s just the nature of the beast

Absolutely gorgeous! Well done fellas!

Affirmative – no holes for those silly Euro side fender blinker

Awesome work you guys are amazing! I can't wait to hear the cost and see how many guys in the US are really interested. Anybody up for a group purchase?? This would be the finishing touch on my current LS2/3 project.
Thanks and that LSx of yours is looking simply stunning – Beni will be doing an LS7 later in the year in his 951

MN – surprisingly we do get asked qu’s the same or along the lines of yours all the time. No pans at the moment though but converting a 944 to 968 is not a huge job (from an exterior looks perspective only) and has been done many times before in the past. There are already kits out on the market that cater for this and whilst they sold well when the 968 was launched, demand is now very low.

seems that would be a bit like asking; "can we give the Space Shuttle a piggyback ride on a Saturn Five Rocket ?" do the laws of physics prevent it ? no. does that mean anyone should do it ? no...... i don't think there would be much of a buzz about installing the front of a 968 on a 944. go look at a 959, a 968, and a 944.... someone was selling a kit awhile back, much to the horror of most of the 924/944/968 community... just don't think a 944 was ever meant to look like the "front-engine-four" version of the 959.

Odurandina / sydneyman2007 ... we hear you

I believe they also did a Red 968, although i may be mistaken. I have pics on my pc at home of a red car parked next to the blue one. Both had the 993 Headlight kit. Will have to check tonight.
Hi Fox, yes they did run 2 cars and your correct that they made another red 968 based on the Maritime Blue 968 with the 993 headlight conversion but it was significantly different and not sure what class it ran in – I only have a pic on computer of the front (more pics would be great ):

The Blue/black and white GT300 car was completely distroyed in 2007 and then rebuild on a new tub (source from this site in japanese: http://www.ad-vantage.co.jp/924/ - I'll try dig out the page for you with pics)

Best regards,
Mark

Actually, I'd be the first in line to try and adapt this front end to a 951. I didn't really think it was all that do-able as the fender supports on the 951 run in a different line, but if someone wants to talk with me about doing this, I am VERY interested.

I've got a lot invested in my 951, otherwise I would buy a 968 and start the process of converting it to turbo, as I like the looks of the 968 better.

sh944 - this conversion is relatively easy and only requires 2 large triangular sheets of metal being fabricated which first bolt to the top of the 944 fender bolts starting at the top narrowest near the winded screen and then widening downwards following the lines of the 968 fenders to the front PU.

Let me try and dig out some better references for you as I know of a full 968 body conversion for the 944 made a long time ago in the UK
