Default clutch slave

Can someone tell me what a bad clutch slave feels like compared to a good one when you have it in your hand as opposed to in the car. I am assuming there is a a way to tell the difference this way . Thanks.

When mine went....the clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed....it was quite fun as I was driving down the freeway at the time....

If you need one I have a good one out of my parts cab.... I do not have a bad one to compare to, what is your "bad" one doing or feeling like?

Cheers, Mike

Actually it turned out to be the hose from the clutch master cylinder to the clutch slave that sprang a leak. When this happens it feels as if the clutch slave went bad until you get underneath and have someone step on the clutch pedal and see the brake fluid running down. I was just wondering if there is a way to tell the difference between a good one and a bad one when they are both OUT of the car.

May as well replace the master, slave and line.
More than likely the slave or master will fail soon.
The system is a pain to bleed, no sence doing it two or three times.

There is an upgraded SS line available from an unnamed source.
Search and I'm sure you'll find it.

Thanks for the info, but what makes you think the slave or master will fail soon?

Depends on the miles the car has racked up on those hydraulics.

BTW, did you replace the line yourself or have someone else do it? I recently did this on my 951 and securing the middle clamp around the line was a major PITA. Still can't believe I managed to get it on there again.

Luis, I replaced mine myself. The removal was more of a pita than the installation. I was a little better prepared for the installation having already gone through the removal.
