Looks like the black car has had more of the $$$ stuff done ( trans, head, suspension ), and you can't beat Cup I's. Service records are a big plus...
Best of luck,
Donn C.

Either way I'd have to fly and drive, so that's not a big deal. I like the fact that the black car has had the known issues fixed, but it does have 40K more miles on it. It's also 2 yrs older. Is there any inherent value in the different MY's?

I may be wrong but a friend was looking at #2,talked to the prior owner and said he sold it for $5,000.

At least to me.
Agreed, for a street car, but for a track car its probably a good improvement.

I'd definitely choose car #1. I'm not comfortable with the hit that car #2 took, and I hate the headlights.

FWIW my '93 with 168,000 miles has near-perfect compression still. These cars have extremely sturdy motors it seems. I had my car serviced extensively this past month and was told my CR was the same as a newer car. I've never had any head work, nor had the PO.

Michelle, The dif. btwn model years are minor. The '94 car is a 94.5 car. So it would have the newer style seats (which were installed in the 92 you are looking at). the '94's also dont have the 2 engine compartment covers 92-93's came with. The B Pillar is color coded on the later cars vs flat black on the early cars. I would also check the option codes on both cars and see if either has an LSD. the later cars were avail with Torsion LSD's where as '92's were avail with either Torsion or Clutch Type LSD (the latter is better for track use). Not sure if either car has an LSD option.

The '94 has some really nice upgrades (big red brakes, etc) and a few really nice factory options (mahogony shift ****).

couple pics from of the car from a couple years age.

Either way get a PPI, #1 sounds like a better/more reliable option.
