Im interested in seeing what everyone who has modified their shift **** has done.
I just finished my shift **** last night. Ordered a Suede Shift Boot (found on ebay) & Stainless steel shift **** (Paragon products) insert. I can post pics when i get home if anyone is interested in seeing how it came out.
Just curious too see what other have done, wood grain *****, after market (momo, etc).
Looks great, how was the fit and finish of the boot? I think I know the seller on ebay that your talking about and just haven't gotten around to buying one.
He had 3 left when i bought mine. The fit & finish could use some work. But for the price i paid, i'm not complaining.....it looks much better then the original worn blue leather boot & plastic insert it replaced & the boot itself cost me less then the Stainless steel insert. I could do a better job playing around with the boot some more to get it perfect.
It was a pain sliding it onto the ****..but should look good with your suede steering wheel.
It will wear quicker then leather, but offer much better grip and feel much softer. I think i may buy another boot to keep as a spare for when this one wears out. Cost for the boot was $25, the stainless steel insert was about $35.
The Suede Shift boot i picked up on Ebay. The stainless steel shift **** insert i purchased from paragon products. I installed both on my car and ditched the worn leather boot & plastic insert.
i've found the suede shift boot on Ebay. It says it is the gaiter only and doesn't include the gearknob. Is it only the insert from Paragon or the gear ****.

Kev
Kev,
The gaitor (shift boot) is what i purchased on ebay. Bought the insert from paragon (no gear ****). I took apart my shiftknob/boot/insert and put everything back together with the new boot & insert. Was a pain in the butt getting the boot over the shiftknob...with i got it on there eventually. Now that i've done it once, the next one will be much easier.
Are you in the NY Metro area by chance? if so, we can meet up and i'd do the install for you after you get all of whats needed. I'm in NYC. If not, i can give you direction over the phone.

OK for that price, I'd buy 2 too, and just go with it! Nice!
