Default The Official Cup 1 Photo thread

Here are the wheels that came with my cab-while not color coded by Porsche, the previous owner had this done-it was a factory option, though. These were the 16" Cup 1's.

Porsche never uses the term 'Big Reds' or 'Big Blacks' but they're used throughout the Porsche owner community . . . oops, better keep that out of your signature it may get edited!

Goodness, we're like the Arabs and Israelis... we may need UN moderation (like that ever accomplishes anything).

I'll simply describe these as wheels and calipers for fear of correction

Bernd, those are outside of what are generally considered Cup 1's-although they were made for the 968 Turbo S. Raj has a set on his white car, and several others have genuine or replica wheels of that type. Great photo though.

Bernd - a little off topic, those 9.5 et 68 rear, 8 et 52? fronts are very rare. I think they were an option on the 968 - but can't off the top of my head recall which car they derived, is there much demand for them where you are? Although they are even heavier than the 7.5/9's, you can fit wider tyres. I know of a set of 9.5/8's that could possibly be prised off the owner, he posts on here - i will leave it up to him to declare his hand though, and if required start a new thread.

I never heard anyone call the 16" wheel a cup 1 until I joined the 968 community. I don't understand why there is so much confusion here and on the other board.
