Where is the cabin filter?

But were they a factory option or dealer installed option? What I was told when trying to locate a kit was it was a dealer installed option in '94, factory installed in '95 and could be retrofitted on any '86.5+ 944. If yours is factory installed, then my information is incorrect.
I bought a new upper plenum thinking that's all it would need only to find out otherwise. I ended up buying an assembly, but I still used my new upper. Dropped right in on my '87 951. Oh, I had to change the temperature probe too.
I ordered the filters from PartsGeek. $37.10 plus shipping for a pair.

Ghetto fix of the day: Smack the cabin filter upside down against the floor to kick out most of the dust/dirt/debris, then shop vac it, then a few hits through the backside with compressed air, good as new! Well not really but it does make a difference.
On a more productive note, I've heard a light spraying of some kind of antibacterial stuff can help a lot, like Lysol or whatever.

Bill,
I just bought an air filter and a cabin filter from my dealer. The cabin filter cost $95. It is a Mann Filter #CUK 3360 and is in a Porsche box. The air filter has no manufacturer name on it. How many of these do I need for my 2011 911 Carrera? Thanks.

It' s time to change my filters. Looked underneath the plastic cover housing and they look filthy.
How do you remove the plastic cover housing? I don't see any bolts holding it down.

The thin plastic cover is held in place by the push fit seal or trim piece that runs the width of the bay. Seals off the engine bay from the ventilation intakes and wiper area etc. Hood rubber stops at each end.
Just a press fit, so pull this up and remove the cover to reveal filters et al. If you had no filters there you risk foreign elements (or even water) being blown in. Worth cleaning up nicely while the cover and filters are off. However, there can be a cosmetically annoying gap between the thin plastic cover and the windscreen bottom should the cover shrink or crack over the years. I 'stretched' the cover back out and used a couple of black self tappers to hold in place.
Filters not the cheapest consumable on the 968, but as I live in the country and clean air they've not needed to be changed for a few years. Worth checking though if it's a daily or city commute.

That's not a bad price considering you only need to change them every 30-40k miles. You can also check rmeuropean. they have the original Mahle's for $36 and change.
