Default 968 TS front splitter

I have a TS splitter to install but I seem to recall that there was some talk of the existing bat wing is mounted underneath the splitter. If not, is there anything that goes behind ( or under) the TS splitter other than an open hole?

TIA

Nope, the splitter gets sandwiched between bumper cover and batwing using existing screws/nuts.

Thanks for the reply Raj,

the batwing has a slot that matches the one on the bumper cover, does the batwing just lays on the bottom edge of the splitter? I dont see where the batwing would mount except just lay on the surface.... You would not have a picture of how it goes, would you?

thanks

My tuner/mechanic added extra screws/nuts to hold the splitter in place. This way when the bumper cover is removed the splitter does not fall right off. Here are some pictures for you to look at for reference. I have to thank Raj again for his help in getting this OEM part, Raj rules! ;-)

The original Porsche Motorsports Group polyurethane splitter is getting harder to find. There are still some people who sell them but the dollar value has definitely increased. I think that http://www.carnewal-europe.com still sells the original version. I also know that A.I.R sells a fiberglass version.

I checked my batwing and it has small tabs on the edge that fit on the edge of the bumper cover. If I try to lay the batwing on the splitter, these tabs dont allow it to fit flush, do they need to be trimmed out ?

Thanks

Surely, one can be fabricated for much less than that.

I saw one of these on a 968 at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant 3 weeks ago at a Rennsport region DE. It was very nice and looked like a perfect fit.

Red one? If so it was my buddy's. His splitter was from Carnewal.

That is the one! Nice guy - I spoke with him for a bit and his car was nicely put together.
