Default Mechanics Elbow (small fender dents)

Has anyone actually had the small dents on top of many 968 front fenders removed? It appears that paintless dent removal might access these by removing the fender liners, but I've not looked under there yet. Are they pretty easy to get to? Anyone experienced with this?

Harvey,

Several people have had great luck with PDR removing the little bumps in the front fenders. We're lucky that we have a great pdr guy here in north jersey. You might want to ask around in the local PCA to find out who does good work in your area.

Be ready to fork out some serious $$. I spent close to $900 to get the fendors fixed.

Ditto on Steve and Raj-my guy here is expensive, but he's a freaking Michaelangelo.

I'm somewhat on the fence about PDR, since I understand the factory galvanized coating is scraped off when they rub those metal bars against the inside of the panels.

I'll take a few minor dimples over giving rust an opportunity to develop. There's no paint on the inside of the sheet metal to keep it from rusting.

If you want to try it your self, you can roll a rubber ball against the top of the fender and work those out. You will have to remove the liners to get to it though. The ball won't mess with the metal finish. I have done this on the inside of my pickup wheel well to remove a bump.

$60 a panel and you can't tell there was anything there. The guy I know of does great work at a good price.

Thats more like it. I thought it was around $120 a panel from an experienced PDR guy.

Nope just 60. This guy does the PDR stuff for BMW dealerships and such so they don't want to pay through the nose, hence the low price.
