Default Cooling system bleeding

I replaced all my hoses and coolant but I can't remember (and can't find a DIY) on how to bleed the system. Where's the bolt for bleeding? Do I get the car up to temp and then open it up while running? I'm looking for "no air" in the coolant stream, right? Will I need to do this a couple of times? Thanks

The coolant bleed screw is located on a hard pipe coming out of the front of the cylinder head. You can see it right in front of the 1st intake runner. You've got the rest of it correct just make sure the heater control valve is open as well when you bleed it [set climate control **** to full heat].

Jeff,

Since yours is such an early car, I think your bleed screw might be different than the later cars, but I'm not sure where it is....here's where it is on the later cars:

Thanks
Steve, you are right!!! I recall doing this years ago on my previous 92 (built Jan 92) and the bleeder screw was in the same place as your car. But on #9 (built Sept 91) it is not there!!! So, where to look????

Pull the fuel rail cover off and you will find the bleed screw.

Damian,

It's a design 1 that I painted speed yellow to match the car. I wish I could've gotten in on the dynatech brace group buy, but I was too late.

Hey, any stb is better than none at all-spoken from a guy who's on his third and last, unless I find a Motorsport carbon fiber one. Funny enough, the design1 guy used to say that no one needed anything more than the inexpensive KLA.

KLA brace marred up the vanity cover and made a few people not too happy with the product. Hence another option for strut braces.

I thought the issue for a few people on the KLA was sagging motor mounts-if they were fine-no rubbing. Heck, with the Cargraphic you had to cut away a good portion of the vanity cover.

Looks like will pick up another D1 brace since I sold my dynatech bar awhile back.

Flash did a great job on that one, and I should have just stayed with it.

Wouldn't sagging mounts lower the engine, therefore give more clearance between the brace and cover?
