Default MPH to KPH Conversion - possible?

I know that the 944 style speedometer can be converted to metric by swapping the odometer gear to the metric one and changing the faceplate.

BUT... is it possible to convert a 968 speedometer? (odometer drive system is different).

Anyone have experience with this?

I'm only guessing here, but doesn't the drive read the same speed regardless? If you switched a mph speedo for a kph speedo, wouldn't the differently calibrated dial face simply read the imperial speed? Does this make sense?

I found out how to do it... turn ignition to "On" and then turn the **** thats used to adjust the clock setting to the left for ~ +3 seconds.

Its easy, you are over thinking. Just change that section of the cluster. As Stew said, they read the same, just the numbers are different. I had to do that to my car since its Canadian.

Jaak, I guessing you are referring to the odometer in that procedure. If so thanks, because though I've gone to KM large faces on the dials I still have to deal with the odometer recording in miles.
