Default 968 exhaust comparison video

With all the modified 968's that took part in yesterday's NorCal meet, it was a great opportunity to record the sounds of different 968 exhaust systems. Most of us have considered buying an aftermarket system to replace the heavy/quiet stock exhaust but I haven't found a resource comparing the different sounds these exhaust systems make. The following clip shows 4 systems: full stock exhaust, RS Barn cat-back w/out resonator, RS Barn full exhaust + headers, and B&B cat-back w/ resonator using the same camcorder/mic settings for all recordings. I'm not endorsing any vendors, exhaust systems, or evaluating performance/weight. The purpose is to let you hear what each system sounds like so you can decide for yourself which one you like best if/when you're in the market for a new exhaust. Check it out:

Thanks Trevor. The B&B with resonator in Dan Sandru's car sounds real nice. I had the B&B in the SY coupe when I bought it, but it was without the resonator. It was just too loud and raspy. Its amazing what the resonator did to its sound.
Regards.

I have had both B&B's. I now have the one with resonator installed, I feel it is the better choice of the 2.

I installed a beautifully polished B&B with resonator and love it. Bolted on perfectly in minutes. Old exhaust sure is heavy and too quiet.

Hi Harvey,

Do you still have the stock exhaust? Let me know.

Thanks.

I wish there was a way to throw in Damian's Cargraphic exhaust in there. I haven't driven his car in a while but based on memory, it sounded really nice.

The sound of your exhaust might be my personal favorite. I also like how light-weight it appears to be.

Raj, I can always get a clip of Damian's car later and re-edit the movie for 5 exhaust systems. Plus people on the other forum are bitching about the sound quality so I'll redo w/ my good external mic someday.

For me, it's either the full RS barn exhaust or the B&B cat back on Dan's car, in that order.

Too bad for Sean being the only guy there with stock exhaust. But at least he has the popular early exhaust tip. If I were there everyone would make fun of my car.

Thanks for the video - very helpful.

Nicely done Trevor - good comparison hearing them all recorded with the same equipment...I'm very happy with my RS barn cat-back (I have the airbox mod and a chip), much lighter than the stock set-up and has a good deep growl when your on it without being intrusive while you're just crusing. And I got in a group buy for only $600 + shipping - so a good deal too.

Sorry I couldn't drive my car to CA so you could hear the Cargraphic exhaust!
