I really like picture 2. I have always loved the light weight carrera 5 spokes also though. I think your car looks great with any of them as they are all very nice looking wheels !!! I think my S2 drives different with the 18's compared to the 17's on my 968 coupe.

Have you considered the factory 17" Sport Classics? They're period-correct because they were optional on the 993, and although they're 10-spoke and not 8, they look more like the BBS RS-GT with the longer spokes and lower profile rim than the BBS LMs.

I ruled them out because I wanted 7.5" fronts and they're only available in 7", 8.5" and 9" widths.

I have the 17" sport classics on my 968 coupe- they look awesome, IMO. I have spacers on the front (1/4") to help clear the dust cap. I will probably put spacers on the rear as well just to push out the rear wheels a little because they look too "recessed" to me. Since I never push the car to anywhere near the limit nor do I track it, the use of spacers and the smaller front width don't matter.

There was a guy from 968.net who had the 17" sport classics on his gold/bronze 968CS- I fell in love with them after seeing his car. Also, Dave Greimann has the 18" Sport Classic II's on his lovely white coupe. The II's are 2-piece I believe, and harder to clean due to the bolt heads - not that the 17"s are easy!!!!

17" Kinesis Supercups (made under license from Porsche as replica's of the 993RS) fit quite nicely.

Luis, they do look nice. I would have similar concerns like you about running 7's in the front.
Bio, any chance you have a picture of the wheels on your car?
Thanks.

I was thinking you'd go wider, since you probably have bigger calipers in mind than my M030s.

Luis, I do plan to keep things in prespective on the cabriolet. It is a compromised design and there is no point in me going nuts over things like brakes. The stock brakes are fine for now. We will see when I up the power.

I don't know how to vote on this one. I think 18s would look good if you chose a better design. The 2 pics you have of those 18s feature thin spokes and large openings. The lightweights have large openings even. This makes the wheel look even bigger, and most importantly, catches the eye. The other wheel has less openings but the fact it has so many spokes also makes it look larger than it is.

The cup 2s look good because they have fat spokes and proportional open spaces. Some fat-spoke 5-spoke wheels might look good (cue the photoshop experts). Maybe some twists?

Just my worthless opinion.

I used to have a photo, but can not find it. I only have shots of the interior steering wheel upgrade I did. I'll take a dig photo and send it. As I said, the only thing I don't like is how far "in" the rears sit with respect to the outer edge of the wheel arch. Some small spacers would fix that.

Bio, what is your offset? I plan to add 14mm spacers to my lightweights. It should be easy to figure out what size spacers you would need. I went with H&R DRS spacers. Pretty neat stuff since they come with studs so you don't have to worry about buying studs seperately.

Jeff, absolutely, that's exactly what I'm talking about. To me, that wheel works perfectly on a cab - just as well as the 17" cup 2s. Thanks for the pic.

Wow, I love Fuchs! All-time favorite wheel! The only problem is they look like they're from an older generation that the 968. It might work with some color combos though, like a color that makes the car look older. So not yellow or silver, maybe red? Maybe with black HRE Fuchs? I don't know, I'd have to play with it in photoshop.
