Yes me too Mike. We had a lot of work in that car and then to have the insurance devalue it is kind of a slap in the face on top of it all.
My plan is to roll the suspension and brakes over to the 968 and keep everything off of the car that I will need to do the turbo conversion. Everything else will be parted and sold including the 968 suspension and 16v head. Once the car is parted and out of the garage, I'll start building the 3.0L 8v motor.
My end goal is to make the 968 nicer then my 951. That way I'll feel like I got ahead from this stupid situation.

Do not know what insurance you have but that is the double edged sword of stated value and standard value. It seems either you can pay high rates and DE the car or pay low rates and tip toe around. There seems no middle ground. i hope you were able to drive for enough years to save enough cash to justify. I have found the difference between say Haggerty or Lealand West to be benificial. Just do not wreck it at the track!!!! even DEs are forbidden. State Farm was 1K for my loved 951 but had a book value of only 6K. I could drive the **** out of it and even DE it but if I wrecked it I got nothing back. At least with LW I had a stated value of 15K for only $250 a year, but had to drive it less than 5K a year- you decide. IF hell broke loose, it's hard to decide which side of the fence to be on- I feel your pain.

Thanks Mike. With out question I will be getting a stated value policy for the 968. I won't go through this again. The limits on mileage doesn't bother me as I never put more the 2k a year on my cars anyway.

No problem- Not putting me out, just trying to help a fellow lister. I thought it would be a great reason to ditch work for a few hours and road trip my 930. I just install a zork style IMSA exhaust and it rocks. Figured I'd wear it out for a while and drag a friend along. Let me know if you change your mind. - Mike
Hey, Mike, I'll be down at VIR end of March for some NASA racing. If yo make it out to the track you're welcome to "hang" with us in the paddock.

I assume you are talking about the 28th, 29th,30th NASA at VIR. I am out town on business until the 25th so I might be able to get there- I'm sure I can find the "amy" car without trouble. Thanks for the invite- I've been diying to dyno my 930- this might be a fun place to do it..Regards, Mike

Picked up the car today. It was as advertised. Very solid and in good shape. I'm pretty happy with it. Tell me this, why is every panel on the car lined with rubber seals? I'll be replacing a lot of those, but other then that it's in very good shape. Interior is PERFECT. Exterior probaby an 8, but nothing I can't fix.

Don't know why but every place the rubber or fiberglass meets steel has a molding seperating it- I posted many threads recently while I am restoring to " almost new" my 968 cab- I took pics of the process- under resto of my 968... and another under bumper installation advice or something close.. They might help.
Good luck with your new ride- Mike
