Default injector hats

Anyone know where I can buy 968 injector hats? The ones they sell at rennbay and similar sites only work on 944s and 951s. The 968 hats are shorter.

I have the injectors out, and all 4 old hats broke on disassembly, so until I get new hats, the car is out of commission!

The best place to get this kind of stuff is http://www.injector.com/
Now would be the time to get them cleaned and balanced. Its only $100 for four injectors and the turnaround is very quick.
I have done this on every car and you would be shocked at what a difference it made.
They send you results of your flow and balance them within a percentage of each other.
Good luck.

Arash,

I replied with the same info on the other forum, Marren is awesome, and it makes a big difference when you have the injectors cleaned and balanced.

Thanks guys! I'll get in touch with Marren.

I used the procedure on Pelican for cleaning the injectors with an air compressor, carb cleaner, and a battery charger. I guess this isn't good enough?

Arash, if they want them balanced within a percentage of each other, sending them out is the way to go. Otherwise, you will just be guessing if all 4 were cleaned to the same level. You get flow rates and well as flow pattern when they are sent back.

Raj, we never seem to run out of ways to spend money on our cars, do we. Hmmmm... now I really want to send them out.

This is for my mom's 968 by the way. I suspect I'll be doing some similar work to my 968 in the near future.

Arash, these "while you are in there" deals do end up costing a lot. In the long run, its always better to take care of things in the surrounding areas since it saves you time.
Good luck. You won't be disappointed.

Did you find the injector hats (pintle caps)?

I'm in the same situation right now... I just got mine cleaned and flow balanced. But they told me that the seal kit with caps is up to me.

There is spending money and then there is maintaince costs. This is the latter. I really do want to clean everything under the valve cover but a second car is required for this and I just don't have that right now.
Kudos to all those who understand the difference between spending money and spending money.

Lord, if it helps, I might have a spare set of injectors that I can get serviced. This way you will not be required any downtime. Let me know if you are interested.

I've had good luck with http://www.witchhunter.com/ for injector cleaning. Quick turn around and full report on all injectors. I have no knowledge of the other vender mentioned, just giving options. (no affiliation with above)

Tim, I am sure there are plenty of places that offer the same service. I have always used Marren for their quick turn around and also they are relatively close to us on the east coast. I am sure there are other places that are just as good.

Thanks for the offer Raj. I've been having starting issues so I want to tackle the electrical first.
This happens once and a while (every 20 starts or so) where the car cranks but nothing happens unless you keep holding it for 5 seconds or so. It's not the starter right?

Lord, its hard to say. It can be a bunch of things but generally if the car is cranking fine, I would think the starter is ok. Things to consider would be fuel pump check valve, fpr, dme relay...
