Default Removing exhaust

I need some tips on removing the muffler. I have been told that it's fairly simple but I know that it had a tricky part. The four bolts connecting the cat to the muffler have 2 hard to reach ones. Any recommended tools that I need to pick up? And torque specs on those bolts.

I have removed the exhaust twice. Both times I only needed the front section off. The first time I removed the four bolts between the cat and the muffler using a variety of tools. They are much easier to remove than to reinstall. The second time I dropped the entire exhaust from the header back. It is much quicker and easier to remove and reinstall if you remove everything from the header back in one piece.

I agree, after trying both methods, its much easier to drop the entire exhaust. Make sure you disconnect the O2 sensor from behind the intake manifold and let it drop with the exhaust.
Once its off it 1 piece, its easy to cut the top bolts off.

I would but I'm getting a rattle and I'm trying to find out if its the cat or the muffler. So I'm going to run the engine without the muffler and see if I hear anything.

I found the best tool to seperate the cat and the rest of the exhaust was a sawzall. There should be enough space between the flanges that you can get in there and cut the bolts. I don't recall it being too dificult getting it back together.

Dang! I started to remove and discovered that I need a 13mm closed wrench. The adjustible wrench just slips when I put force on it.
I should just get this and never need tools again.
