Damian its always a pleasure to have you as our guest, I am waiting for the day I can afford the return visit! The car is so nearly there and we have made some good progress with the boat as well. PS you will love the 993 track car its like a go kart on steroids!!

Nick, as a member you are entitled to a Rennlist Gallery of your own which can host the pics. See the button in the top RH corner

I wanted to post them in the thread.....I will try and sort the gallery out when I get a chance!
I just fitted my splitter in an effort to try and get 30 - 60 mph cruising temps down by channeling more air through. I was hoping the 9m radiator would drop the temps all round but so far I still have minor issues around town, only on motorways and dual carriageways is the coolant temp maintained by airflow alone. It is much better than it was but I think its time to get to the dyno and find out if proper tuning can drop temps a little further.
Paul I can email you pics of the intercooler radiator.....what address?

Thanks Paul!
Been out testing today, intake temps are rising once the car is warmed up and then I am getting into a downward spriral as temps get too high. I am pretty sure this is caused by the fact that my air intake is now right in the middle of the heat zone of the engine and therefor the air temp behing inhaled is way higher than it should be and also the air intake tube is getting too hot as well which is magnifying the effect. Since installing the new rad/ intercooler my air intake pipe is now blocked from its usual path so its temporary position is now cancelling out any benefit from the new IC. I need to re route the piping for it so its getting cold air feed and things should get back under control. Looking to get an oil temp sender as well so I can have a look at oil temps.

Having fitted my expensive shiny new ninemeister intercooler radiator and finally getting rid of coolant leaks (old pipes) and other related probs such as getting the original 968 ducting in place to get the airflow right, I was hoping the intercooler would acheive the desired results. Unfortunately on driving WOT for periods of 20 seconds or more the intake temps are rising to 45 degrees plus and may climb more - I ran out of road and was going way too fast! As soon as I back off the temps drop down fairly fast but with an ambient temp of 9 - 10 degrees on the day in question I feel that the intercooler is not doing enough. Airflow is good now I have the ducting in place so that isnt the prob. I feel the core may be too open (to allow air through easily for the rad) and needs to be more restrictive. I am only running 16psi and want to be able to run 18 - 20psi on the track without problems. What are other peoples experience with respect to air intake temps? Is the fact that my sensor is on the manifold changing the data? Will insulating the hotside and bottom of the intake manifold make any difference? Would really like to find a way to make this work without changing out the intercooler core, but I will if I have to.
Colin....any comments on what may be causing this as my car should match yours in terms of air flow and cooling etc. No probs on the water cooling side, all sorted there.
