Default Did any 968's come to the U.S. with sunroof delete?

I was wondering this the other day and thought it would be a good topic to throw up for discussion.

Did any 968's come to the United States with sunroof delete? I know finding a 944 with it is close to impossible and mine is one of the few that I know about. So I was wondering if there are any 968's running around without a sunroof?

I'm not sure if that many ROW cars had sunroof delete since I have seen several 968 club sports in magazines that I believe had sunroofs.

As far as I have observed I would think of a 70/30 ratio between sunroof/non-sunroof ROW 968.
I would too appreciate solid datas though.

My 968 is a non-sunroof car.

But, initially it was a sunroof model. I ordered from Porsche the non sunroof replacement roof and had it mounted to my car when it became a track rat.

How does that work? Do they weld it in place? Pics please.

Yep...just cut and paste; or weld as the case may be.

I've yet to learn how to post photos...so I can't do that yet; sorry!

Jason- I think you mentioned this in another thread before and I was always curious. How much was the roof panel from Porsche, and how long ago did you able to get it? I wonder if you can still get one today.

I did the project about 3 years ago...the roof panel was about $1,500 if I remember correctly.

Of course that price didn't include the shipping from Germany...don't ask!

potent951turbo86, would not the 968 roof panel be the same as a 944 turbo?

I know someone in socal who testdrove a 968 with sunroof delete. Alas the car was out of his price range, priced around $30,000. Gotta love that socal car market.

I have only seen 1 sunroof delete 968 for sale in the last 10 or so years in the States! That was the speed yellow M030 highly optioned car that had super low miles! On a side note I live in Northern, CA and have only seen 2 951's with sunroof delete for sale here, and 1 '84 white 944 that was pretty clean body and interior wise but was donated to a Pick and Pull junk yard! I was so amazed I could hardly control myself here was a pretty nice complete sunroof delete optioned car less rims sitting in a you pick yard for scrap. I didnt have the time to buy it since it was about a year ago but man I know that car got crushed after a few weeks when eventually somebody got to the engine and transaxle. What a shame though huh? I was tempted to buy it and turn it into a later style 951 or S2 bodied race car! I couldnt help but wonder who originally bought that car or was it just on the lot somewher by pure chance and someone who had no idea bought it? Or the idiot who donated it since he clearly had no clue as to what it was worth sitting in his driveway! I did pull the headliner with bows and clips since it was very clean, the gut working at the front told me I could have the whole car for around $700 - $900 if I remember right but it would carry a salvaged title so that runed it for me!
