Default my first P car, a 968

hi all,
I just registered today, and thought I'd share some pics of me and my 968.
I bought it last September, had it on track three times since then, and have enjoyed it so far.
Its an American car that I bought in Montreal for about 15K CDN (roughly 12500 US), which I thought was reasonable for 93000 miles and as the inspection I had done didn't reveal too many troubles.
Sadly, a lot of little things were not right, and a few bigger ones (the inspection didn't find a lot), so I have now spent about half of what I spent on the car in repairs and overdue maintenance. Granted almost 2K CDN was on shocks (Koni sport) and tires (Toyo Proxes T1-R), but it still hurts to feel I paid too much. Ah, well, I wanted the car too much I guess...

Anyway, next steps will be to put racing seats and harness in, upgrade the sway bars, and them maybe a chip. Donations welcome

No comments on the mis-matched paint!!

Mismatched or not, it's a great color. As SpeedBump asked: what color is that?

Welcome from a fellow Canuck, sweet ride for sure.

I just received my ProMAX chip and am installing this weekend, got the $148 US deal advertised here. Will let you know how it goes but judging by what I've read here it should really make a noticeable improvment.

I've been calling it charcoal but Slate Grey it must be. Has anyone ever sprung for the official letter from Porsche which details all the options and original sale details? I guess the options list in the trunk would have a paint code which could tell me more.
The car was crashed at some point and must have had the cheap and cheerful body work done. The driver's door doesn't match the front fender or hood.
It's been lowered to the minimum allowed by PCA for DE events - they have a rule about this as the ball joints fail spontaneously due to geometry changes.
What are the promised gains from the Promax chip?
My gripe so far is lots of roll, my Audi A4 wagon with Ultra Sport package is almost flatter through turns; so I hope bigger sway bars will help. What are the thoughts on Weltmeister vs M030?
Also, I'm pretty tall and with the sun roof and power seats it's a tight fit. How much smaller than stock is the CS steering wheel? I'm looking for a 320mm flat bottom replacement as my hands get stuck between my leg and the steering wheel which is not recommended on track .
The car has the LSD from the factory which is cool.
Also, what short shifters are there? I have only found Kokeln (sp?).

John Etnier - your 968 page was a great help when purchasing, so thanks for that.

The M030 sways made a big difference for me and the Kokeln did not shorten my throws but did make it notchy.

L23F is the paint code that was my 94 coupe in slate gray. You'll find this stamped in the Maintenance book, as well as the build sheet under the rear carpet. The other letter code will be the interior code.

MO30's will help alot, as will other suspension work. The CS wheel is great, although I don't have a comparative number to give you-it is somewhat smaller, but thicker too.

@Speedbump - what do mean by notchy?
@John Etnier - can you describe your 944 Racing short shift? And your steering wheel - is it a smaller diameter than stock?
@Damian - thanks for the paint info

my current dilemma is what seats/harness/bar to go for - PCA DE are ok with a harness bar and 5/6 pt harness, but BMW DE want a roll cage as soon as you have a harness, they claim the shoulder belts will prevent your head from moving in a roll-over, but that stock belts won't; I'm trying to keep the car streetable and also DE friendly

there's quite a thread on rennlist in the racing forum for those who track their cars.
