Default CS front setup

Upon Thom's recommendation, I tried the CS spring setup. It is spot on. It gives you the lowered height without adding higher spring rate to the suspension. They have the same rate as other factory springs. I also swapped to factory rearshocks. I drove the car with this setup on some bad roads and the car behaved very nicely, not too soft but at the same time it was not bone jarring.
I have also switched to 16's temporarily until I get my 17's refinished.
Moral of the story, the stiff suspension are not the way to go on cabriolets. Its a totally different animal. The stiffer suspension will only exaggerate the cowl shake and flex.
I am happy to have the car soak bumps again . I would recommend this setup if you are looking to lower your car.

Good to read you like them.

I suppose the front now stands a shade higher than with your previous set up ?

Thom, its very similar. Based on the information on 968 manual, the drop is significant. This is from the 968 workshop manual.
Stock spring length removed from car for a cabriolet is 356mm.
CS spring length removed from a car is 324mm.
Difference is 32mm is approx 1.29 inches which is exactly what I was getting with the Paragon lowering spring kit. It worked out perfectly, a big ThANK YOU for your recommendation.
I greatly appreciate you sharing the information. I went back to stock struts and stock rears.
Regards.

You are welcome ; it is really no big deal though, as all the info is in the WM.

Raj / Thom

what is the part number for the spings? Price?

I'm also interested in keeping the stock spring rate. Will turbo twist 18's still fit without rubbing?

Thanks,
Colin

Colin, any dealer should be able to look them up, but they are back ordered. I tried to get a new set of springs and there was no telling how long I would have to wait. I went ahead and bought a complete used set of springs/struts from on gentleman on 968UKforums.
I was able to run Carrera III wheels so turbo twists should be no problem at all.

Wow Thom, they are approx the same in $$$ here. Last time I remember, approx $80 each at Sunset Porsche but as stated earlier, they were back ordered with no dates to tell how long one would have to wait.

Raj, Thom,
If you don't mind me asking... What's the spring diameter (Not the wire, but the coil.)? Are these for the stock struts, or M030? I ask because I was under the impression that the S2 shares the same spring diameter and, if so, this looks like a nice option for me...
Thanks!

Thanks guys!

So - these springs will swap into my 968 (non-M030) and there's enough adjustment to lower the rear of the car without having to re-index the torsion bars?

That is correct.
You should be able to lower the rear enough using eccentrics.
